If I hadn't checked Baidu Encyclopedia, I would have been misled by the word "youth" of slash youth. It should be said that it is self-misleading.
"Slash youth" comes from English slash, and comes from the book "Double Occupation" written by The New York Times columnist Marek Alber. It refers to a group of people who no longer meet the lifestyle of "single occupation" but choose a diversified life with multiple occupations and identities.
These people will use slash to distinguish themselves in their self-introduction, such as Wang Dashuai, teacher/actor/photographer, and "slash" has become synonymous with them.
Give me a chestnut, my friend, and be a sales director in an Internet company. During the break, he becomes a travel writer who keeps writing, and he can dig out a lot of girls on the basketball court at weekends. . . This multiple identity of "sales manager/writer/amateur" is a perfect interpretation of slash youth.
The emergence of slash youth is not accidental, but an inevitable phenomenon of social development and a manifestation of progress. This kind of progress makes people want to get rid of the restrictions and shackles brought by the "industrial revolution" and release their nature.
Independent, diverse, interesting and economically independent life.
Although it was born in 1980s, I didn't hear the word slash youth until the last year. As a result, I automatically focused on youth, not on diagonal lines.
Young or not, people need slashes. Especially in middle age.
Roles need slashes, interests need slashes, enthusiasm needs slashes, the ability to support the family needs slashes, and career planning also needs slashes.
Slash is a historical necessity.
Primitive portraits are diagonal, versatile, and hunt elephants. Agriculture and industry began to fix people in a "grid", and more and more emphasis was placed on the ultimate "professionalism", so people worked hard to become professional from study to work, thus becoming the screw of work.
It's different now. With the rapid change and integration, people need to be resilient. Besides eating and wearing warm clothes, people are eager for happiness and a sense of accomplishment. However, many of us are really middle-aged (the so-called middle-aged people died after 90! ), it has become a routine. When the world is unlocked, I don't know what to do.
Slant is also an effective way to prolong a person's career and quality and broaden the width of life.
Within the organization, more and more functional boundaries are beginning to merge, instead of having a precise and clearly separated "wall" as before. More and more senior management positions need people's ability to cut, managers can always have their own seats in the increasingly flat organizational structure, and cutting ability is also an inevitable requirement.
Slashing's development is not simply listing one's own professional side, but the real ability to switch between multiple industries in parallel and gain value. British and American management researchers have mentioned a term called "combined career", which is the same as this concept. The exploration and experience of various social roles and interests not only provides a variety of skills and interests, but also provides a sense of security: even if a social role is unsuccessful, there are still various potential possibilities, which will create a huge safety net and make people feel more at ease.
