It is said that when Yu Qian, a national hero of the Ming Dynasty, was young, his mother combed him with a double bun. One day, when he went to school in the countryside, he was seen by a monk named Lan, and he sang "Bull's Head Against Dragon's Horn" to laugh at him. Hearing this, Yu Qian immediately retaliated with "ivory never comes out of a dog's mouth".
Shanlan Gu Chun was startled at first, and then blushed. Later, Yu Qian was selected as a "doctoral student". On one occasion, I went to Jingci Temple, Nanshan, West Lake, with the adults of Patrol Press and Sanshi. One of them pointed to the Buddha statue in Daxiong Hall and made the first couplet: "Three giant buddhas, sitting on a lion like a lotus." Nobody can say for a while. Song Xiang, a native of Meixian County, Guangdong Province, was a scholar in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, and was known as "a gifted scholar in the south of the Yangtze River". He once went to a province in the northwest to meet local celebrities. During the dinner, some people thought that it was hard for Song Xiang that "birds fly to the west and phoenixes are everywhere". Song Xiang said unhurriedly, "The dragon jumps in the south and the turtle bows in the river." Quick thinking, tit for tat, full of surprises.
Lin Zexu tested boys when he was a child. His father carried him into the examination room because there were many people. Seeing this state of the father and son, the examiner joked that "my father is riding a horse", which caused laughter and embarrassed Lin Zexu's father.
