Respecting one’s elders is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. We primary school students should also inherit this traditional virtue.
Honoring your parents is absolutely essential! Every day, our parents wash clothes, cook for us, and care about us. They do not want any reason or any money, just for our healthy growth. It can be said that parents are selfless angels in the world. As children, we should honor them with a grateful heart! Filial piety can start little by little, not by giving money to parents, but by starting from a small place: for example, not giving pocket money, making parents less angry, and doing some housework. In addition to these, there are many, many more...
Now, parents who have worked hard for a year are finally on vacation. We can make him feel the warmth of home: give him a pat on the back and say a few words of blessing every day. Let parents who have worked hard for a year take a break.
In the few days before New Year’s Eve, parents are always very busy, washing clothes, cleaning windows, wiping tables and chairs, etc., there are too many. We can help! Allow parents a break. This is also filial piety.
The money we collect during the New Year can be used to buy some gifts for our parents. This is also filial piety.
Of course, today’s parents often say to us: “Studying well is a gift to us!” Yes! I want to study hard, get good grades, and make my parents happy.
In fact, being considerate to our parents is what we students should do most and develop a good habit. Of course, practical actions are very important. Don’t just talk but not do it!
Honoring our parents is our unshirkable responsibility.
Chapter 2
The Chinese New Year is about to come, and my parents and I went to the countryside to visit my grandpa.
On the way, while listening to the beautiful songs sung by the birds, while watching nature’s electricity-free TV, I was still thinking about whether my grandpa was doing well.
Finally, we arrived at my grandpa’s house. I knocked on the door. As soon as grandpa opened the door, a smile bloomed on his wrinkled face: "Yeah, it’s Lele. Come in!" ”
I took my grandpa’s hand, asked him to squat down, and kissed him. We brought many New Year gifts to Grandpa, including daily necessities and Spring Festival couplets. Grandpa said: "It's good if you come, why don't you bring gifts."
Mom and Dad went to the kitchen to make dinner. My grandpa and I were watching TV and chatting. Grandpa asked me a lot of questions. Grandpa asked: "Lele, are you studying well?"
I said: "Okay." After chatting with grandpa, I started to help grandpa tidy up the room. I first brought a towel and put it away. I washed myself in the water and cleaned the windows. After wiping the windows for a while, I was so hot that I was sweating profusely, tired and thirsty, but I kept wiping them and finally finished wiping the windows. I held the broom and started sweeping the floor. I swept the bedroom, living room, and kitchen, and dumped the garbage into the trash can. Finally, I swept the room clean. My mother shouted outside: "Come here for dinner!"
I wiped my sweat and looked at the clean room and smiled. When I have time, I want to visit my grandpa more often and help him with more housework.
Chapter 3
During the happy winter vacation, the teacher assigned an interesting assignment - visiting the elderly.
I thought: What should I give as a gift? Spring couplets. So, I found the Spring Festival couplet paper, writing brush, ink bottle, pen holder and ink inkstone from the calligraphy bag, and moved a table. I started writing, and after a while, I finished it: "The new trend of civilization and harmony comes, happiness and wine are exchanged with hard work, and spring fills the world"; "Harmonious families have long blessings, hard-working children have abundant wealth, and everything is renewed."
In the evening, I went to my aunt’s house because a whole table of old people came there. After I finished my meal, I immediately took out the two Spring Festival couplets I had written, and then opened them. I first grabbed the top parts of the upper and lower couplets, and the couplets immediately stood up. The eyes of the old people seemed to be attracted by a magnet. "Wow!" Grandma was the first to scream in surprise, "This is this?..." "This is the Spring Festival couplets," I replied. I also told the old people what the word was, and the old people laughed happily.
I first gave the first Spring Festival couplets to my aunt because we were having New Year’s Eve dinner there. The last one was given to my sister’s grandma, because when I gave it to my grandma, she asked me to give it to someone else, and my sister’s grandma smiled knowingly. I gave my blessing and said, "May you live a long life and be as blessed as the East Sea." "Okay! Okay!" Grandma replied. I also wish all the elderly to be happy and proud!
