Introduction to Wang Xinjian

Wang Xinjian, courtesy name Lanshan, was born in Linyi, Shandong Province. Member of the Chinese Prose Society, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, director of the Shandong Literary Critics Association, member of the Shandong Calligraphers Association, vice chairman of the Linyi Young Writers Association, assistant to the president of the Linyi Painting Academy1. Gongjiu style poems, including a large number of poems on paintings, are widely circulated. He specializes in freehand ink paintings, mostly using orchid and bamboo. He is insightful in art criticism of calligraphy and painting, and his works are fresh, elegant and full of personality. The orchids and bamboos at the bottom of the pen are masculine, poetic, full of vitality and a sense of the times. There is a monograph on the theory of bamboo painting "Xin Jian Hua Yu" and a collection of poems on painting "Xin Zhai Shicao". His works have been exhibited many times at home and abroad and published in newspapers and periodicals.
