People are keen to practice hard pen calligraphy now. Some people have made remarkable progress in a short time, while others have worked hard for several years without any progress. Learn to write brush strokes should pay attention to the following points:
1: Select a template, copy first, then copy, and copy and copy together.
Look at the pen Copybook for calligraphy published in the market. The word is small because of the pen word. Although the strokes are fine and the structure is rigorous, it is not convenient for beginners to copy (write with words). Most people are lazy to copy, thinking that only primary school students will do this, but they don't know that copying is a key step in learning books and an effective way to avoid the futility of "copy and paste" learning. A person who doesn't copy, only writes according to copybooks, can hardly find the shortcomings of his writing. Only by copying first and then copying, and combining copying with writing, can he make progress. After selecting the copybook, you can use the copier to enlarge it to 1.5 χ 5 cm. If you like to write clearly and delicately, you can choose an elastic pen. In the process of learning, we should combine imitation, presence, memory (words after dictation) and creation (writing words similar to words after dictation). In addition, you can write down what you haven't learned on the back page of the copybook in your mind or ask someone to read it, and then write it in your accustomed way, and then compare it with the original copybook to see the gap between yourself and the copybook, so as to check your own shortcomings.
Step 2 choose the right method
Learning hard pen calligraphy can directly learn running script for quick success. However, influenced by the orthodox concept of "write the book first and then write the running script", many math books have been meticulously writing regular script for a long time, and once they need to actually write the running script, they lose confidence. Therefore, writing running script directly or combining the main lines is a short-term effective method.
3. Choose the right Copybook for calligraphy.
In Copybook for calligraphy, there are strict norms and generosity. Everyone's personality makes their hobbies different. The same copybook varies from person to person. A bold and exposed person often does not stick to stippling and likes to write cursive scripts. Although natural and unrestrained, fluent, but the statutes are insufficient, the cursive script is not bad. An introverted person often likes to write neat and exquisite books, but when writing running script, he pays too much attention to the fineness of stippling, so it is difficult to get rid of rigid writing habits. Therefore, it is the first step to choose various styles of copybooks and then decide your own special target. The second step is to change copybooks according to your own characteristics during the learning process. Only by selecting, deepening, diluting and merging can we gradually improve. Wang Xizhi's Preface to Lanting, Preface to Saint Education and Yan Zhenqing's Xitie are all excellent running script models in history. You can learn directly. In order to solve the weakness of writing with pen, you can temporarily write with 2B-5B soft pencil. There are three advantages to using a pencil: first, there is no problem of improper use of a pen, and writing is smooth and easy; Both of them avoid the pursuit of meticulous stippling and ignore the overall effect when using the pen, which lays the foundation for rapid writing; Three thick strokes can be written in big characters similar to the original post, which not only has statutes, but also eliminates the sense of formality and freedom.
4. The pen should be suitable
Brush calligraphy pays attention to the central strokes, and pen calligraphy also pays attention to the correctness of strokes. If the pen is too tight and hard, or the tip of the pen sticks to paper, it is easy to hang paper and it is difficult to write fluently. The correct way to hold the pen is to be elastic and moderate, so that the water of the nib is sewn in the middle of the pen. In the process of writing, the strength is determined according to the thickness and the primary and secondary strokes. This technology requires learners to pay attention to observation and analysis when practicing their posts.
5. Be good at thinking.
To learn to write Chinese calligraphy, it is important to practice hard for a long time and be good at using your brain, otherwise the written words will only become a mere formality and be devoid of god. It is also necessary to overcome the shortcomings of not loving meditation, facing copybooks, being in a spirit, knowing only madness and not knowing the rules, and raising a pen is the dragon and phoenix dance. Only by studying hard and being good at thinking can we write calligraphy well.
Second, learn the "five essentials"
1: Learn from the ancients
China's calligraphy has a long history, with many famous artists and schools. Famous historical sites and beautiful outposts are even more dazzling and tireless. This undoubtedly provides us with extremely favorable conditions for learning calligraphy. Therefore, beginners should learn from the ancients, and don't rush for success. A teacher once said: "A real learner must first be a person who is good at learning from the ancients. We must' sink' ourselves, learn the law, study ancient inscriptions for a long time, and practice solid calligraphy skills. Then it is possible to integrate the strengths of a hundred schools of thought, become a personal style, and embark on our own calligraphy road-deep roots can flourish! "
2. Be good at reading posts.
"If you read a book a hundred times, you will understand its meaning." It is also important to learn pen calligraphy and read posts. Feelings after reading: read the words apart first, that is, read a word apart, first look at the beginning, line and receipt of each stroke, and then look at how to match the strokes, how to avoid them and how to arrange them harmoniously; Second, single-word reading, that is, only looking at a certain word, mainly depends on its frame structure, form and charm. Through the appreciation of one word, we can grasp the word-formation law and overall style of the post; Third, linking words, that is, linking several words or lines together, is mainly to find out how words work, how to expand and contract, and how to seek change in unity; Fourth, compare and read similar words, find out the words with the same or similar font in the post, compare the similarities and differences between the actual use of pens and words, especially how they treat the same strokes differently; Fifth, special words are stressed, and there are always some words with unique structures in each post. Memories should be imposed on such words so that they can be used conveniently when creating.
3. Always observe.
Open your eyes, observe widely and ponder carefully, so that you can have both. In addition to reading more famous inscriptions and accumulating beautiful glyphs on the chest, we should also carefully ponder the works of famous artists. Read more, read more, in order to learn from others, keep in mind and absorb the essence. Over time, the characters have reached the situation of "expected font" and "meaning comes first" in their minds, and at the same time, the various writing methods of some characters are organically dissolved in their own creation, which will avoid the similarity in the works and increase the sense of spirituality and change.
4. Don't be ashamed to ask "modest benefit, full loss". "Don't be ashamed to ask questions" is one of the most direct and convenient ways to acquire knowledge and experience. If you have doubts and don't solve them, the problem will get bigger and bigger, which will eventually delay the opportunity of learning, hinder the pace of progress, and even lose the confidence to continue learning. Therefore, in the process of practicing calligraphy at ordinary times, if you encounter problems that you don't understand, you should boldly ask the supervisor.
5. Dare to take part in the competition "The road to Xiu Yuan is long and the road to Xiu Yuan is long, and I will go up and down for it". Dare to take part in some regular calligraphy competitions, so that you can review your academic achievements and find out your own gaps, so as to continuously improve your calligraphy level. At the same time, before the competition, I have to practice calligraphy carefully, carefully ponder the brushwork, composition and form, and be familiar with the creative content, which invisibly cultivates my serious and meticulous sense of responsibility and glorifies my calligraphy skills.
Third, we should have a good attitude when learning calligraphy.
Teenagers should have a good attitude in the process of learning calligraphy, pay attention to the following points:
1: Attach importance to basic skills training
In recent years, various calligraphy exhibitions, calligraphy competitions and various calligraphy newspapers and periodicals have sprung up like mushrooms after rain. If teenagers want to participate in exhibitions and make achievements in calligraphy, they can't ignore basic skills training. Only by practicing basic skills hard can we lay a good foundation. High-rise buildings are based on foundations.
2. Pursuing fashion depends on tradition.
Under the impact of modern social consciousness and fashion, there is an innovative wind in the book world, and there are "deformed bodies" and "disorderly books". Innovation is the lifelong pursuit of everyone who is interested in the art of calligraphy, but we must not leave the foundation of tradition. Only by deeply understanding and seriously studying the tradition can we talk about future innovation.
3. Study hard and be enterprising.
Only through diligent study and hard practice can calligraphy make great progress. Especially after the achievements, we should take these achievements as a new starting point for learning calligraphy. Don't focus on submission and personal book fair, but persevere and keep making progress. Learning calligraphy, like learning other knowledge, pays attention to the words "diligence" and "bitterness". Only by studying diligently and tirelessly, even if the conditions are worse, there will be achievements in the future. Examples like this abound.
Step 4 be single-minded
Copying inscriptions is a traditional and effective method, and you should be single-minded when copying. It is important to copy the inscription and concentrate on it. After choosing the inscription, you must copy it again and again with perseverance until you have both form and spirit. Only in this way can we gain something.
Fourth, about "plagiarism"
Copying is the most basic and primary method to learn calligraphy, and it is also the only way to climb the peak. "Pro" and "copy" originally have two meanings: "Pro" is "addressed to the opposite side" and "copy" is "covering up". The object (copybook) can be designated by the teacher, but it is best to choose it yourself. You like it and start studying it, which can be said to be a kind of enjoyment; Cultivate an interest.
Plagiarism is not plagiarism of the whole article. Both the whole and the part need to be carefully scrutinized and treated with caution. Copying is to deepen the impression of the brain through hand drawing, and to carve a beautiful image in the heart through the movement of hands, eyes and brain. The key is not the quantity, but the harvest every time you come. It doesn't matter in my heart every time. That time is a waste of time. One of the main purposes of copying is to force the image when you are near. Understand and digest the calligraphy image created by others through copying. The similarity between the temporary works and the original works reflects your understanding and mastery.
Formally speaking, copying is to write other people's words with your own handwriting; In essence, this is indeed an excellent means to train the image perception ability. The more similar the writing, the more thorough it must be; The closer you look, the sharper your perception. When two words are put together and slightly different, they can be distinguished at a glance. Such keen eyesight should be the basic quality that every calligrapher must possess. Copying is a kind of thinking, a kind of comparison and a kind of memory.
For writing with a pen, the key point of copying is the structure of the word, and it doesn't take much effort to use a pen. Pay attention to the structure, manage the pen, and learn to like it at once; But the result of practice is often mutual interference.
Fifth, the first step of posting
The pursuit of "likeness" to learn anything is always a gradual process from primary to advanced, and so is learning calligraphy art. Whether it is brush calligraphy or pen calligraphy, we must make great efforts to copy good calligraphy stickers and model words, and get "shape" first. Moreover, practice has proved that the pursuit of "similarity" is of great significance to beginners of calligraphy.
First, although the shape is only in the primary stage, it basically reflects the external form of the characters. If the method of copying can achieve the initial shape, there will be the initial shape beauty. Because the calligraphy posts are all good works that have stood the test of time, they are unanimously recognized as having both form and spirit. If the sketch fails to reach the shape, distorts the beauty expressed by the object and changes the shape, the authenticity of the words will be lost, and the so-called "beauty" will not exist.
Second, of course, we should pursue "spirit likeness" in our posts, but only by doing so can we further pursue "spirit likeness". Without crossing the bridge of "similarity", it is impossible to reach "similarity" categorically. "Spirit likeness" reflects the inner and essential things of the characters, and it is a vivid point. In calligraphy learning, only by constantly improving the "similarity" can we achieve the "similarity". "Spirit likeness" is the accumulation of "likeness". The ancients said, "If there is no slight damage to the shape, then God should come by himself." In other words, in order to obtain "spirit likeness", it is necessary to observe and ponder for a long time in calligraphy, so as to achieve less loss and no loss in the subtle parts of the form. Only in this way can we gradually become "spiritual". Wen was a painter in Song Dynasty, and he was good at painting bamboo. He can not only draw the vivid form of bamboo, but also draw its charm. His experience is "have answers". To do this, we must have the spirit of careful observation and hard writing. The so-called "ingenious pen" must be the result of both, and it can never be obtained by accident.
Thirdly, the constant pursuit of "likeness" can deepen the understanding of the laws and techniques of Chinese characters. At first, you won't know the rules of writing and you won't really know how to use a pen. Even if you know a little fur, it has not been verified by practice, and you can't count it in your heart. Only in the long-term practice of pursuing "similarity" can we understand the spiritual essence step by step, master the techniques skillfully and distinguish the advantages and disadvantages. As for the temporary writing of a post, it is extended to the temporary writing of various posts, from seeking the "image" of a post to seeking the "image" of various posts, and then sublating various genres to achieve the original degree of similarity and difference, which is a higher realm. However, in the final analysis, it is developed on the basis of "similarity". Liu Xizai in the Qing Dynasty said: "Books should be solid and empty, and the pursuit of emptiness must be real, and no one can be inseparable from paper." The "reality" mentioned here refers to the form and quality of words; "Empty" refers to the spirit of words. Seeking spirit first requires form and quality. He asked people to work honestly on "similarity", which is a crucial first step that can never be ignored.
Sixth, grasp the center of gravity of words
When learning calligraphy, the concept of "center of gravity" is often mentioned. The center of gravity of a word is the center point of the weight of the whole word. When writing, accurately grasp the center of gravity of the words, so that the written words will not tilt up and down, and appear upright. Tang Sun Guoting's book spectrum says: "Beginners learn distribution, but seek fairness." It can be seen that how to grasp the center of gravity of calligraphy is very important for beginners. However, China's Chinese characters are varied and complicated. Some words have obvious focus, such as "ten" and "heaven", while others are difficult to grasp, such as "flying" and "being". The following Chinese characters are divided into three categories: single, up and down, left and right, and illustrated with examples.
1: the center of gravity of a single character
Monographs are directly composed of basic strokes. In all Chinese characters, although letter combinations account for a small proportion, they are the structural units that constitute many combined words. Therefore, being familiar with and mastering the focus of independent characters is the basis of learning calligraphy well. We try to grasp the center of gravity of a single Chinese character from its shape or main strokes.
(1), if the whole glyph is central symmetry, the central symmetry point is the center of gravity of the word, such as "ten", "heaven" and "hui".
(2) The whole glyph is symmetrical left and right, so the center of gravity of the characters is on the left and right symmetry axes, such as "Tian", "Da" and "Yi".
(3) if there is a middle vertical in the word, the center of gravity is on the middle vertical, such as "zhong", "mu" and "lai".
(4) If there is a vertical picture in the word but it is not in the middle, it is vertical on the left and the center of gravity is on the right, such as "Xia", "Wei" and "Wei"; Vertical to the right, the center of gravity is on the left, such as "only", "energy" and "inch".
(5) If there are antonyms in the word, the center of gravity is in the center of the left and right vertical, such as "gate", "non" and "use".
(6) If the top, bottom, left and right sides of a word are asymmetrical with each other and their positions are skewed, then by changing the pen posture, you can find the right one in the oblique direction and grasp the center of gravity. If the word "Xi" itself leans down to the left, then the writing of the last point is very important, and it must be pressed on the vertical line of the word; For example, the word "Ge" itself inclines to the lower right, and it needs to change the stroke posture to the right to be stable; For another example, to write the word "no", after folding the pen with a horizontal hook, it must be folded to the left until it is hooked at the middle vertical line, so as to hold up the whole word.
2. The center of gravity of the text is stacked up and down
There are two kinds of words piled up from top to bottom: upper and lower structures and upper, middle and lower structures.
(1), the upper and lower structure of the word, the upper and lower parts of their respective centers of gravity should be vertically aligned to ensure that the whole word is not skewed, such as "sound", "fragrance" and "cover".
(2) For words with upper, lower and middle structures, the respective centers of gravity of the upper, middle and lower parts should be kept on the same vertical line, such as "Su", "Ji" and "Tang".
3. Left and right parallel characters
Left and right horizontal characters are divided into left and right structures and left, middle and right structures.
(1), the left and right structures of characters should be kept at the same level, so that the characters can be balanced, such as "Lin", "Qun" and "Amount".
(2) For words with left, middle and right structures, the centers of gravity of the left, middle and right parts should be arranged on the same horizontal line, such as "Xiang", "Paste" and "Bian".
Seven, the "integration" of calligraphy art
The introduction of writing should pay attention to the integration of calligraphy art. If you want to focus on one family, look for it first, then choose some words with the same structure as those on the book post, and follow the writing principles on the post. If you can express your intention, you still need to find some words that are not on the towel at all, and make higher requirements according to the writing principles on the post. If you can get "likeness", you can grasp the essence of the word.
However, every calligrapher also has his development and change process. We should follow his path, learn more about his writing principles and master his artistic characteristics in different periods. For example, if we focus on the European (Ou Yangxun) style, we should arrange the existing historic sites in order and analyze the similarities and differences among several of them. We will see the beauty of Huangfusheng Monument, the solemnity of Huadu Temple Monument, the exquisiteness of Yugong Monument, the ancient thickness of Yao Bian's epitaph, and the most mature one is Li Quanming. After such a comparative study, some people may like the brightness of Liquan, so it is necessary to take the brightness of Liquan as a benchmark and synthesize others. If it's not on the benchmark post, you must look for it on other posts. After you find it, you will get a reference, and you will definitely get a basic pattern. Then you will take the base post as the processing principle and highlight the characteristics of the base post, which will create many words that are not in the base post. This is a relatively simple integration.
Although some books are written by one person, they are quite different. If the two are combined, the work will be more difficult. We know that Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy is very popular, and there are many copybooks, but different tablets have different copybooks. Although the general style is similar, it is not consistent. If we want to integrate, the benchmark is not easy to determine. There are many outstanding figures based on Yan Shu in history, such as how to,, and so on. But their styles are quite different, and they are far from Yan Zhenqing. However, all of them evolved on the basis of Yan Shu, and they have become a good reference for those who want to melt Yan Shu.
It is not easy to integrate one family, and it is even more difficult to integrate many families. Some people advocate choosing some similar positions for integration. If the unified rules of "one English" and "Chen Shi" are adopted, the waves will be beautiful; Or take "Chen Dong Wang Xiaojing" and "The Diamond Sutra of the Valley of Stones" as an example. Or take Zhang Qianbei and the Yellow River Monument with an open mind, leading to the fall of love. This kind of integration is easy to unify, and it seems convenient to master this method; However, this kind of integration is difficult to be greatly sublimated and will not undergo qualitative change.
Some people advocate choosing some posts that are far away for integration, such as taking the concise washing of seventeen posts and the elegant escape of Huai Su; Whether it is the beauty of Preface to Lanting or the boldness of Sacrifice to My Nephew. Of course, this can play a complementary role and can be stored synchronously, which reflects the generosity and tolerance of words. However, this kind of integration is too difficult. It is easy to mix and knead the two, but it takes a very high temperature to blend into one, just like melting molten iron first and then casting it into a whole, and you can make a dress. Otherwise, it is neither fish nor fowl.
Some people have tried the fusion of fonts, or seal script, or letter line, or letter line, which is even more difficult. The former is Zhao, the second is and the last is. In modern calligraphy, the parties see some official script lines, including seal script. Some people try to put the fonts together in disorder on a work, thus writing a magnificent work. It should be admitted that they have made some achievements in the development of calligraphy art, but they have not formed a trend and law. They can only be regarded as a wonderful flower and cannot lead an era.
The integration of traditional brush calligraphy and modern hard pen calligraphy is a new topic facing contemporary people. The fusion mentioned above is only the fusion between books, and the hard pen calligraphy is more difficult because of the different performance of writing tools and brush. Some people advocate highlighting the beauty of lines, and some people pursue the effect of brush calligraphy from the subtle changes of thick and thin strokes, and they can all write proud works. To learn hard pen calligraphy, we must first learn the combination of brush calligraphy and then combine it with hard pen calligraphy, so as to take a shortcut.
Eight, how do adults practice writing?
It is more difficult for adults to practice pen writing well. This is because their fonts have been finalized. To practice Chinese characters well, adults should first forget the previous fonts completely, start from scratch and start with the most basic strokes. Then practice the structure. For pen words, the most important thing is structure, and the quality of structure directly affects the beauty of words. Therefore, it is most important to write a good pen and ink structure. To forget the previous font, the best way is to copy it in block letters that are different from your previous font. Practice orthography in block letters. Practice for a week or two or more, and you can achieve orthomorphism. When the shape is straight, I also want to choose a running script copybook that is completely different from my original font and I think it is very beautiful to copy. If the font was stiff before, choose a bold copybook; If the font is sloppy, choose a rigorous copybook; If the font is plain, choose smart copybook; If the font is soft and smooth, choose a solid copybook; If the font is bloated, choose exquisite copybooks ... If you practice for two to three months, you can learn new fonts. We should also pay attention to perseverance in our study. The purpose of copying is to forget the previous words, remember the words in the copybook and use them. After that, we should sort out the relationship between words and lines, which is the so-called composition.
You can't achieve something in the art of pen calligraphy overnight. We should not only learn from the use, structure, composition and charm of brush calligraphy, but also give full play to the inherent characteristics of the pen. Only in this way can the art of pen calligraphy flourish and make her have strong and permanent vitality. Otherwise, pen calligraphy can only be a vassal of brush calligraphy, and it will not develop and innovate, and it will not have strong and permanent vitality.
Nine, it is not appropriate to write running script in regular script.
Running script is the quick writing of regular script, because running script is faster than regular script, and it is written simply, casually and naturally, giving people a relaxed and happy feeling.
In the process of writing, if the writing method of regular script is completely unchanged, copy it mechanically to the running script. There will be a stiff and awkward font that won't open. Due to the overemphasis on the strokes of regular script, the fluency and liveliness of running script are lost. There is indeed a meaning in the running script. However, the role of regular script in running script is internal rather than exposed, so it cannot be overemphasized. Otherwise, the writing speed can't be improved and the charm of running script can't be shown. A pen, turn, etc in a running script. Should be gently pressed, strengthen the use of folding. On this basis, we should master the structural changes of running script, omit strokes reasonably, and pay attention to the echo and coherence between strokes.
