Zhai is the 18th surname in China, with a large population, accounting for about .15% of the Han population in China.
Zhai Xin, whose name is Yanzhu, is Zuiyuexuan. Born in 1955. Studied in Central Academy of Fine Arts twice. At the age of nine, he studied calligraphy, wiped his books and pasted them on Europe, Yan, Liu and Zhao. His cursive calligraphy mainly focused on Zhang Zhi, Wang Xizhi, Zhang Xu, Huai Su, Sun Guoting, Yu Youren and Mao Zedong, and he kept on writing for nearly sixty years. Mr. Zhai Xin is a well-known multi-body calligrapher with high attainments in many kinds of calligraphy, such as Kai, Xing, Li and Cao. It was strictly examined and selected by the members of the expert group of the judging committee of the State Council State Guest Gifts for Artists of China Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Center.
