China Academy of Fine Arts, formerly known as National Academy of Fine Arts, was founded in 1928. It is a comprehensive key art college with complete disciplines and specialties established by the Ministry of Culture and the Zhejiang Provincial Government. The aim of the college is to cultivate professionals who are engaged in artistic creation, design, theoretical research and artistic education with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. Nanshan Campus, Xiangshan Campus and Zhangjiang Campus of China Academy of Fine Arts are undergraduate and postgraduate education schools.
1928, outstanding educators Cai Yuanpei and Mr. Lin Fengmian chose the West Lake in Hangzhou City and established the first comprehensive national art institution in China-"Chinese Painting Academy". The purpose of running a school is to be compatible with Chinese and western arts, create art of the times and carry forward Chinese culture. Over the past few decades, the college has moved ten times and changed its name five times: 1928, National Academy of Art. 1929, National Hangzhou Art Institute. 1938, National Academy of Arts. 1950, East China Branch of Central Academy of Fine Arts. 1958, Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. 1993, China Academy of Fine Arts.
Since its establishment 77 years ago, our institute has gathered and trained a large number of famous artists at home and abroad, such as Lin Fengmian, Pan Tianshou, Huang, Yan, Ni Yide, Li Keran, Ai Qing, Chen Zhifo, Pang Xunqin, Lei Guiyuan, Xiao Chuanjiu, Guan Liang, Huang Junbi, Chang Shuhong, Dong Xiwen, Wang Shikuo and Wang Shikuo. Many famous artists who are active in the art world at home and abroad have studied and taught here.
As the first national academy of fine arts with the most comprehensive disciplines and the largest scale in China, China Academy of Fine Arts, founded in 1928, has always stood at the forefront of contemporary art with a sense of historical mission and responsibility to revitalize national art and a rational spirit of active dialogue with world art, which has had an important impact on the innovation and expansion of contemporary visual culture and art in China. Today, China Academy of Fine Arts has achieved great-leap-forward development in the history of the school through campus renewal, concept inheritance, department reorganization and discipline expansion.
The conditions for running China Academy of Fine Arts have been improved as never before. Nanshan Campus, which was completed in 2003, realized the modern interpretation of Ink Academy. Xiangshan Campus, which was put into use in 2007, gave birth to the landscape shaping of art homes, and its unique campus became the new business card of Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city. The campus covers an area of 1 1,000 mu, with a construction area of nearly 300,000 square meters. It spans Hangzhou and Shanghai and has three campuses: Nanshan, Xiangshan and Zhangjiang.
China Academy of Fine Arts has formed a multi-level school-running pattern and put forward a unique discipline framework of "one person, two rings and six disciplines". Art is listed as a national key discipline, art is listed as a key research base of humanities and social sciences in Zhejiang Province, design art, film, architecture and radio and television art are listed as key disciplines in Zhejiang Province, and the first-class discipline of art is allowed to set up postdoctoral research mobile stations. There are more than 9,000 students, including 6,500 undergraduates, 800 postgraduates, 0/00 international students and 0/900 junior college students. There are about 1000 faculty members, including professors 1 10 and associate professors 196.
China Academy of Fine Arts advocates the academic concept of multi-interaction, harmony but difference, creates a talent training environment of "mastery of knowledge, art, ancient and modern China and foreign countries", trains outstanding talents with basic theoretical literacy, practical ability and innovative spirit, shoulders the responsibility of leading the development direction of contemporary art in China, and strives for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in accordance with the goal of building a world-class university proposed by the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government.
