Wang Xizhi's Preface to Lanting is known as "the best running script in the world", and the regular script is the most neat. There are four masters in regular script: Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, Ou Yangxun and Zhao Mengfu. Compared with regular script, running script is scrawled and freer, and something in between is called "running script". Cursive writing is the most scribble and the most difficult to write. The most famous cursive script is Zhang Xu in the Tang Dynasty. There are also official scripts and large and small codes, which are not used much now and have a special aesthetic feeling.
Whether the font looks good or not is related to people's appreciation angle. Yan Zhenqing is upright and upright, and his handwriting is very heavy and solid, but many people think his handwriting is not good-looking. Zhao Mengfu, the royal family in the Southern Song Dynasty, surrendered to the Yuan Dynasty. His handwriting is beautiful, but it is also sweet and charming. Another example is "Master Hongyi" Li Shutong. His later calligraphy looks like a beginner's brush strokes to most people. In fact, every stroke of his calligraphy contains deep and implicit power.
