The First Pass Under Heaven
The plaque in Shanhaiguan is the best in the world, with a length of 5. 19 m and a height of 1.5 m, and its scale is absolutely huge. The above five characters are written in print, and the evaluation is dignified, vigorous and imposing. At first glance, you can know that they are written by famous artists, but because there is no signature, it is impossible to verify the author. Generally speaking, there are two more credible statements.
Said it was written by Yan Song. Yan Song's calligraphy attainments are extremely high, and he ranks among the prime ministers in the cabinet records. He wrote the plaque of Shanhaiguan, which is very reasonable in terms of identity and status. But it is said that when the Japanese invaded Shanhaiguan in modern times, the plaque inscribed by Yan Song was swept away and put on public display. The words on the photos taken at that time are somewhat different from those on the plaque hanging on the tower today. It is inferred that the plaque is probably cold, but now this plaque is not written by Yan Song.
The second theory was written by Xiao Xian, a scholar in Ming Dynasty. The record of this matter in the book is not certain, but begins with legend. But in local folklore, the story of Xiao Xian's inscription is very concrete and vivid. It is said that after the inscription plaque was hung on the gatehouse, it was found that the next one of the five Chinese characters was a little missing. Xiaoxian then crumpled a piece of cloth, dipped it in ink and threw it up to draw the last point.
Whether written by Yan Song or Xiao Xian, the calligraphic attainments of the people who wrote the inscriptions are worthy of recognition, and the plaques have long been famous for Shanhaiguan and Harmony.
