The following is a detailed introduction of my method:
First of all, before reading
Pre-reading refers to a preparatory work before you officially start reading posts. I think our main task at this stage is to have a detailed and comprehensive background understanding of this calligraphy work.
This background knowledge includes the following:
Who is the author of the calligraphy work, the time, reason, content (including style, literary talent, specific use), life experience and creative evaluation of this calligraphy work.
Why do you want to do this work first and then read the post? In fact, this is one of the processes that we must go through to appreciate and learn a work of art.
Mencius had a special discussion on this in ancient China during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Later generations summed up his conclusion and called it the theory of knowing people and discussing the world. The so-called understanding the world means that when you face a work of art, you can't and shouldn't fail to understand the story behind it and its creator. In this case, you may not only misunderstand the creator, but also have a superficial and incorrect understanding of art.
For example, when we see Ou Yangxun's "Jiuchenggong" tablet, we must first understand that it is a rare three-stop tablet in the history of Chinese calligraphy, and its calligraphy is the work of Ou Yangxun, a famous calligrapher in the early Tang Dynasty.
In this calligraphy work, it is recorded that Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, accidentally discovered Liquan in a palace that was 90% short of water and no spring. At that time, Emperor Taizong was overjoyed and thought it was auspicious, so he ordered Wei Zhi, the minister, to write an article and Ou Yangxun to write about Dan, so he left this Three Wonders Monument? Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Ming Dynasty, Wei Zhi, a famous minister, and Ou Yangxun, a famous calligrapher.
In this inscription, Wei Zhi naturally praised Emperor Taizong and thought that Liquan was indeed a good omen for the country's prosperity.
But Wei Zhi's greatness lies in that he not only wants to flatter the monarch to gain favor, but also wants to take this opportunity to remonstrate with Emperor Taizong. Therefore, many exhortations are still very useful for us to read today, such as overflowing and being far-sighted.
Do you know what's good about all this? I think there is still some, at least we will feel much better about the work. For example, if we read Yan Zhenqing's "Manuscript for Sacrificing a Nephew", we will understand why Yan Zhenqing wrote it like this.
This is the preparation before reading.
Second, when reading
In the real process of reading posts, a key point is that calligraphers imagine it in their minds when writing this word. How to carry a pen with a writing brush? In other words, you have to make up this scene yourself. This is important because it's for the back? After reading the post? Make a preparation.
As for the details? Brain tonic? You need some experience in posting. But as long as beginners look carefully and practice seriously, there is no problem.
In addition, when reading posts, we should pay attention to the following aspects:
(1) single word
When reading single words, we should pay attention to the characteristics of fonts, the structure between strokes, collocation and combination, and some distinctive processing methods. For example, the treatment of vertical hooks in Zhao Kai Shu by Ou.
(2) Multiple words
If there is more than one word, it depends on the relationship, distance, density and characteristics of this word and other words in the composition.
Third, the feeling after reading
Some people just read the post and finish it. In fact, for calligraphy learners, the most important thing is to apply what they have read to practice, which is the feeling after reading.
