During the "Cultural Revolution", Mr. Zhang worked as a worker in an aluminum factory in Luoyang. Because of his beautiful handwriting, the leader asked him to be a full-time propagandist, writing blackboard newspapers or copying posters all day. Later, this enterprise was placed under the Ministry of Metallurgy. The newly appointed party secretary visited the grassroots and found that Zhang is a talented person who can be trained, and his calligraphy is good. In addition, the party secretary also likes calligraphy and was immediately transferred from the workshop to the office. Besides writing speeches and blackboard newspapers, Zhang can have more time to practice calligraphy. The unit holds a calligraphy competition every year, and he always ranks among the best and wins the grand prize. This laid a solid foundation for Mr. Zhang to become a famous calligrapher.
Mr. Zhang likes all kinds of inscriptions very much. He spends a lot of time in the swimming pool and keeps writing. On the basis of practicing regular script hard, he concentrated on writing cursive script and practiced it while writing. Since then, Mr. Zhang's five styles of regular script, cursive script, official script, seal script and official script have been fully developed. He is so fascinated by calligraphy practice that he studies late into the night every day. At that time, the living conditions were very difficult, and there was no air conditioning or heating. In the sultry summer, regardless of mosquito bites and splashing ink with bare arms, in the severe winter when the north wind roared, he persisted in learning Chinese characters despite shivering with cold. Hard work pays off, and Mr. Wang's calligraphy level has developed by leaps and bounds. With his own strength, diligence and "enlightenment", he knocked on the door of the calligraphy art hall, occupied a place in the book world and gained more attention and recognition.
After decades of unremitting efforts, Mr. Zhang has published many works such as Appreciation of Zhang Calligraphy Art and Collection of Zhang Calligraphy Works. From his calligraphy works, we can appreciate the graceful and smooth posture of Wang Xizhi and Wang Duo's cursive scripts, and the masculine and majestic bones and muscles on Yan's body. The elegant charm of the book spectrum and the dignified atmosphere of Han Li. In particular, he absorbed the essence of the great calligrapher Wang Duo's calligraphy, and his cursive script was vigorous and childish. The wind is blowing from all directions, and it is unconstrained. The word length is slightly oblique, swaying and falling rocks, vigorous and powerful. It is elastic and tough to turn the pen, which belongs to the cracking after inheriting the brushwork in the insect body, and more is the development.
Throughout Mr. Zhang's works, on the basis of inheriting the artistic characteristics of China's calligraphy, he keeps pace with the times, boldly innovates, forms his own system and has a unique style. The font mechanism is simple and unrestrained, open and close freely, and the skill is solid, which is amazing. Exquisite and concise brushwork, neat and orderly composition, rigid and flexible lines, and a sense of rhythm in the era of women and children. Boldly combine tradition with innovation, composition with individuality. This is also the embodiment of Mr. Zhang's "Kung Fu is outside the book" in his works.
After reading Mr. Zhang's works, the former Chairman of China Calligraphers Association praised "solid foundation and beautiful fonts". Mr. Zhang Hai, the current chairman of China Calligraphy Association, and Mr. Tian Wen, the team leader, commented on his works as "unique in style and innovative, and hope to continue to work hard".
Since 2004, Zhang has successfully held solo exhibitions in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Singapore. So far, Zhang has participated in various domestic and international competitions many times. His classic work, Mao Zedong's poem "Qinyuanchun? Dozens of paintings such as Snow, Zhuge Liang Model and Yueyang Tower have won many awards. Last year, his novel "Spring and Snow in Qinyuan" was collected by the Great Hall of the People. On July 15 this year, the Ministry of Culture held a large-scale national painting and calligraphy exhibition in the Military Museum to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Two other works by Mr. Zhang were selected for the exhibition.
Faced with flowers, applause, honor and praise, Mr. Zhang is not hot-headed, nor arrogant, nor does he value money. Still modest and low-key, calm as water. For years, whenever an acquaintance or friend asked him for something, he always tried his best to satisfy it. He insisted on participating in various social welfare activities, whether it was the development of the western region, the construction of the Great Wall, love for China, the rescue of giant pandas or severe floods and earthquakes, and the bid to host and celebrate the success of the Olympic Games, he would take the initiative to donate money, materials, words and paintings. Known as a painter with both ability and political integrity, there are countless banners and awards at home, which proves that Mr. Zhang is as literal as a man, picturesque and open-minded, so no matter where he goes, his works not only win prizes, but also are regarded as treasures by more and more friends at home and abroad, and he gets them in advance and then quickly. Zhang's traditional Chinese paintings, especially the representative works of small red paper gold powder in calligraphy works, are not only deeply loved by Chinese people, but also fragrant overseas.
In order to inherit China's calligraphy art, Mr. Zhang has trained more than 200 students, all of whom are calligraphy lovers of different ages from all over the country. After several years or even more than ten years of teaching by example, a considerable number of students have achieved fruitful results in the book world and achieved remarkable results in various domestic and international competitions, which is also his most gratifying and satisfying. In the future, he will continue to impart his valuable experience accumulated over the years and train more students. Further develop China's calligraphy art.
The author sincerely wishes Mr. Zhang, a calligrapher who has worked quietly for decades, to create more calligraphy works, bring people better and more beautiful artistic enjoyment and keep artistic youth forever.
