The concept of "Yan Liu Jin Gu" was first put forward by Fan Zhongyan in the Northern Song Dynasty. At that time, he only commented on the calligraphy works of calligrapher Shi at that time, which was called "Yan Gu", and later used it to comment on regular script. "Zhang Dian drunk" is the collective name of two cursive writers Zhang Xu and Huai Su in the Tang Dynasty. The cursive script was formed in the Han Dynasty and entered a glorious period in the Tang Dynasty. Zhang Xu and Huai Su are the two most successful calligraphers in the study of Weeds.
Let's start with the birth time of these four great calligraphers.
First place, Zhang Xu. His cursive script is as good as Li Bai's poems and Pei Min's sword dance. At the same time, his poems are also unique, and they are also among Du Fu's "Eight Immortals of Drinking". Wine and weeds must be the best match in Zhang Xu's eyes. Every time I get drunk, I howl and walk away. It takes pen and ink to catch people, so it's called "Zhang Dian". In fact, not everyone can reach this state. It is believed that Zhang Xu's love for calligraphy art has reached the point of fanaticism, even when he is drunk and unconscious. No wonder later generations called him "the sage of grass".
Second place, Yan Zhenqing. He is good at running script and regular script. He first studied Chu Suiliang's calligraphy, and later, under the guidance of Zhang Xu, the aforementioned weed, he created his own "Yan Ti" regular script. Yes, he studied weeds, but what he was best at was regular script, which was unexpected. In fact, this also shows that calligraphy is not static. Yan Zhenqing learned Zhang Xu's brushwork, but eventually became his own, which is now called a lot of inheritance and development. Yan Zhenqing is also good at poetry, with many works, but all of them have been lost. Otherwise, if it can be handed down, it will be an extremely precious calligraphy masterpiece.
Third place, Huai Su. To say that Zhang Xu loves drinking and writing after drinking, so does Huai Su. Qian, whose real name is Qian, became a monk since childhood. You may not believe it, but he suddenly had the idea of becoming a monk when he was ten years old. His parents couldn't stop him, so he had to agree. This may be a disciple chosen by the Buddha, a born Buddhist teenager. Huai Su's cursive script is fine and vigorous, flying naturally, which can be said to be rapidly changing, but although it is changeable, it has statutes, that is, it is consistent. When he first started to learn, he was still outside the orthodox calligraphy. After years of practice, he finally reached the peak of cursive writing, just like Zhang Xu.
The last one is naturally Liu Gongquan. He is the youngest of the four. He served as an official in Korea and experienced seven dynasties before and after. He is definitely an old hand. In terms of calligraphy, he first studied under Wang Xizhi, and later learned from the calligraphers of the Tang Dynasty, absorbed the strengths of Yan Zhenqing and Ou Yangxun, and combined with his own characteristics, created his own "Liu Ti", which is famous for its strength and strength, and is as famous as Yan Zhenqing. Besides many inscriptions and copybooks, he is also good at writing poems. There are five poems in the whole Tang Dynasty, and one in the whole Tang Dynasty.
The so-called Yan Gu, Yan Shu is vigorous, stippling is tolerant but not sloppy, thin and delicate, and the beauty is full of vitality, so it can give people a strong attraction. When they are drunk, they both like to drink, and after drinking, they like to brush their pens and run wild. Probably it is through this drunkenness that you can present a better "crazy" essence.
