The legend of Maoershan

First, the legend of Laodaogou:

According to legend, an old man who dug a "wooden stick" heard the sound in Maoershan, next to the crack on the south slope. He looked into the gap and saw a golden pony pulling a stone mill, all of which were golden beans. But the gap is too narrow for him to get in. He was in a whirl of anxiety. The next day, he invited some friends and relatives to visit the mountain, but the stone had been sewn, so they had to go home disappointed. The story reached the ears of a southern treasure hunter. He has a pair of eyes and can see the ground three feet away. He came to the mountain and looked through the stone. Sure enough, how could he open the crack in the stone? He searched the mountain all day and found nothing. But he didn't lose heart. One day, he walked into the yard of an old vegetable farmer at the foot of the mountain and saw a big green melon with green leaves and two big green melons hanging on the shelf. He was so happy that he paid the old man a large sum of money to buy it, saying that he could not pick melons until he came back. When the first frost came, the old man was afraid of getting cold, so he picked the melon and put it away. Soon the treasure hunter came back to have a look and complained quickly. It turns out that those two big melons are the keys to open the cracks in the stone. But he still wouldn't give up, so he took two big melons to the gap in the mountain. He picked one up first and knocked it three times in the gap. The melons were all broken and the mountain didn't open. He picked up the other one and knocked it in the crack. He knocked the second time, the gap moved and closed, and the melon was broken again. Just then, there was a loud bang and water gushed from the north of the mountain. When the man saw something bad, he fled without a trace. Later, several experienced people heard that Maoer Mountain is a sacred mountain in a corner of the East China Sea. Afraid of big trouble, they built a temple at the foot of the mountain called "Taihe Palace". Burning incense and chanting every day, at four o'clock, the water keeps flowing into the Ashe River, and this place has become a well-known old ditch.

Second, the legend of Maoershan Laodao Cave:

Maoershan is a famous Taoist mountain in the north of Qing Dynasty. At that time, the Hall of Supreme Harmony, a Taoist ten-square jungle Taoist temple ranked third in the country, was built. Before this, Taoist practitioners on Maoer Mountain have recorded that the famous "Northern Road" is immortal here. In addition, there are two Taoist relics in Maoershan, one is Laodaogou, and the other is Laodaodong full of magical colors. There have been myths and legends about Laodaogou and Laodaodong in Maoershan. According to legend, a long time ago, in a village at the foot of Maoer Mountain, a Taoist priest came and wandered around, unable to live there. Idle around all day, drink and eat meat, and don't behave. Over time, the villagers became accustomed to it. One day, a family in the village married a bride, and the Taoist priest went to hold a wedding banquet as usual. When the bride got off the sedan chair, the Taoist suddenly picked up the bride and ran away. Angry villagers helped the old people and followed them with young people. The Taoist priest walked lightly and went straight to the top of the mountain with his bride in his arms. When the villagers chased them halfway up the mountain, the Taoist priest took the bride's room and waved to the village. The villagers all looked back and saw flash floods that had flooded the whole village. After everyone's shock subsided, they realized that it was the Taoist priest who saved the life of the whole village. Find the Taoist again. The Taoist is gone.

Later, the villagers thought that the Taoist priest was a god sent by heaven to save them, and looked around to repay them. Finally, they found a cave in the ravine frequented by Taoist priests, which contained traces of Taoist life. In memory of this Taoist priest, the local people call this ravine Laodaogou and this cave Laodaodong. There is a gap at the top of the cave, which runs all the year round, and the water quality is clear. There is a trough under the water, which does not dry up or overflow, and still maintains its original appearance, which is very amazing. According to legend, Taoist priests have been practicing here for many years to cultivate children's beauty. At that time, people felt very strange and speculated. Some people say that the old road has ascended to heaven, and some people say that the old road travels around the world to save the suffering people. There is a gap next to the cave, which runs all the year round and the water quality is clear and mellow. It seems that in order to match the charm of this flowing water, the clouds on the top of the mountain often wander mysteriously and change many shapes.
