Chen Xiejun, director of Shanghai Museum, was born in Shanghai in July 1952. He started working in 1968 and joined the Communist Party of China in August 1971. Graduated from Huangpu District Amateur University with a bachelor's degree in radio major, and studied for a doctoral degree in the Department of Philosophy of Washington University in St. Louis, USA. He has been an employee of Shanghai Electric Meter Factory, worked in the research team of Shanghai Instrument and Telecommunications Industry Bureau, and later served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Youth League Committee of Shanghai Instrument Company, deputy director of the Teaching and Research Office of the Information Institute of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, deputy president of the Social Sciences Press, and Shanghai Press Assistant to the President of the Academy of Sciences and Deputy Director of the New Discipline Research Center, Deputy Director of the Information Institute of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Director of the Library of the Academy of Social Sciences, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Library and Shanghai Institute of Scientific and Technological Information, Deputy director, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Cultural Relics Management Committee, deputy director and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Shanghai Museum, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Cultural Relics Management Committee, director of the Shanghai Museum and deputy secretary of the party committee.
