The origin of regular script
The origin of regular script is Han dynasty, which evolved from official script. Compared with official script, regular script is relatively simple and has the characteristics of square body and straight pen. According to the book traces preserved today, it was created by Zhong You, a great calligrapher, whose representative works include the Declaration Form and the Recommended Season Table.
At present, regular script is divided into four types, namely European style, Yan style, Liu style and Zhao Ti style. Among them, Ou Ti, Yan Ti and Liu Ti refer to the regular script of Tang Dynasty calligraphers Ou Yangxun, Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan respectively. Zhao Ti, the most influential calligrapher in Yuan Dynasty, refers to the regular script written by Zhao Mengfu.
