What is the scale of Han bamboo slips unearthed in Juyan today?
Juyan Han bamboo slips are the general name of Han bamboo slips unearthed in the ancient Juyan area of Ejina Valley in northern Gansu Province. This is the area with the largest number of unearthed Han bamboo slips. Only 1930 and 1972 ~ 1974 were excavated twice, and more than 30,000 bamboo slips were unearthed. The ancient Juyanhai was a garrison place during the Han and Jin Dynasties, and a large number of bamboo slips written at that time were completely preserved because of the dry local weather. What is particularly valuable is that many bamboo slips are written with specific dates, such as four years in Yong Guang and five years in Yangshuo. These bamboo slips left first-hand information for people to understand the calligraphy level and style at that time. Another example is the Han bamboo slips in Dingxian County, Hebei Province, which is a relatively mature official script and an important historical material for studying the development of Han Li.
