Jude Zhong has little foundation in the army. Before attacking Shu, he was a civilian in Beijing and worked as an official minister. It was only when he attacked Shu that he was appointed General Zhenxi. Although his father, Zhong You, ranked third, he never took charge of the army and had no foundation in it. Therefore, Zhong Hui basically has no private power in the military.
What's more, Zhong Hui killed Xu Yi, the son of Chu Xu, a pioneer officer, on his way to Hanzhong because the road was not paved. Although it has the effect of killing and intimidating generals, it certainly has the opposite effect among officers, thinking that bells will be inhuman. Hu Lie, Zhong Hui's main assistant (the son of Hu Zun, a motorcycle general) obviously had a bad relationship with him, and finally took the lead in resisting.
Wargo has a similar situation. Zhuge Xu, the secretariat of Yongzhou, cooperated with Wargo when he put down the rebellion of Wu and Wen Qin (Zhuge Xu was then the county magistrate of Taishan). However, in the battle of attacking Shu, Wargo had hoped that Zhuge Xu, the Middle Route Army, would fight side by side with him, but Zhuge Xu refused.
Extended data:
After the change of Sima Yi and Ping Ling, there were three rebellions in Huainan, namely, the change of the tomb, the change of Wu and the change of Wen Qin, and the change of Zhuge Dan. Therefore, when Si Mazhao came to power, he didn't trust any minister who was armed to the teeth.
Si Mazhao rose up and attacked Shu, and the soldiers were divided into three roads, Wargo, Zhong Hui and Zhuge Xu each taking one road. Strangely, there was no clear commander in chief in this attack on Shu. The highest rank is Wargo (General Zheng, commander of the western theater), but the main force is Zhong Hui (real general, deputy commander of the western theater). Zhuge Xu (Yongzhou secretariat) neither listened to Wargo nor Zhong Hui, and was finally slandered by Zhong Hui and lost the relieving power.
According to the "History of the Three Kingdoms", "All the armies were summoned to Shu, and General Sima was interested in giving festivals". In fact, Si Mazhao personally served as commander-in-chief, and all the armed forces obeyed him.
Because Wargo opposed the attack on Shu many times before the war, he also sent his close ministers (general Sima, military director of the general's office, chief administrative officer) to Wargo's army as Sima, in fact, in order to monitor Wargo. Later, when Wargo was disobedient, Bian Shi reported it to Si Mazhao.
