Wangboling former residence
Wang Boqin (1871-1944), a famous winter drinker, was a careless layman and his ancestral home was Lishui. He has taught in universities for more than 30 years, and he has profound attainments in Chinese studies, poetry and calligraphy, and his moral articles are also eloquent.
Professor Wang lives in poverty, but he is very proud. On the eve of the Japanese occupation of Nanjing, his family was poor and sold books to make up for the lack of rice. But he knew that it was the group that bought the books at a high price, and immediately took back the original books and refused to sell them. Wang Boxun was hired by a fake high salary, but he would rather starve to death than get sick. Especially before he died, he heard that the undertaker was going to bow to the Japanese army, so he told his family to bury the coffin in the backyard and put the tombstone in the hall.
Wang Boqin's former residence, located at No.98, East of Zhonghua Gate, Nanjing, has been renovated and turned into "Wang Boqin Zhou Fagao Memorial Hall" (Weng Xu). Bananas and bamboos set each other off in the former residence, and the East Room was Wang Boqin's bedroom before his death. The table and cabinet were as simple and clean as yesterday, and then he went into the open space outside the door, where the old things of Professor Wang's era were planted.
"A famous teacher makes a great teacher", the students Wang Bokun taught in those days, such as Chen Yinque, Lu, and Gao Ming from Taiwan Province and his later son-in-law, have become experts and scholars in various fields.
