Characters' Life in Yuan Haiyong's Works

He came from a family of traditional Chinese medicine, was influenced by family culture since childhood, and was obsessed with poetry, calligraphy and painting; 1982 after enlisting, he was engaged in news writing in a certain unit of the People's Liberation Army. At the same time, he was enlightened by the famous poet Mr. Huang Qingjiang and began to publish his poems. After 1990, he engaged in creative advertising design, and began to devote himself to learning calligraphy, studying calligraphy theory, learning from others' strengths, copying the charm of ancient and modern calligraphy masters, and writing incessantly. His cursive script is free and easy, lively and interesting; The list is vigorous and bold.

On the basis of inheriting traditional calligraphy, he found a new way to create pictographic calligraphy from his own mind according to the theory of "painting and calligraphy are homologous". He is character-oriented, bold, creative and original, and spans between "likeness and non-likeness" around the meaning of glyphs. In the creation, we don't dip in water, paint or render, but completely use dry and wet, light and heavy, slow-drying ink techniques and pen-lifting techniques, so that we can write a few strokes simply and easily. The artistic conception of painting is realized by the brushwork of calligraphy, which has both form and spirit and is natural. The work has the artistic characteristics of taking characters as the foundation, Jiao Mo's stick figure and painting with books, which is the first case of pictographic calligraphy with "painting" in Jiao Mo.
