Judging from the metaphor of "a great ship", it may be that Zhu commented on the creation of the second great man. There is also a profound meaning in this poem, that is, a rising tide lifts all boats and you can travel freely. Once the artistic creation of calligraphy is inspired, it can make the words flow smoothly at once. This is a vivid metaphor, which is not only an essential process of calligraphy art, but also an important essence of general artistic creation. Of course, this poem can also be understood from another angle, namely Zhu.
Some people think that poetry is the product of thinking in images, so it is only suitable for describing scenery and expressing feelings, not for reasoning. There is some truth in this, but it cannot be absolute. Because reason can be expressed by visual means, it is as attractive as scenery and emotion. At the same time, the speculative nature of reason itself is often very attractive. (Meicheng's Seven Hairs proves this point. Therefore, there are many successful philosophical poems in ancient and modern poetry. His father Zhu is also very good. Perhaps influenced by his father and teachers, his evaluation of literature in Taoism is relatively fair, and he has also written some good poems full of life flavor. For example, these two poems are, of course, works of reasoning. The former needs continuous injection of living water to be clear, and the metaphor of thinking needs continuous development and improvement to be active and avoid stagnation and rigidity. The latter often has a stage from quantitative change to qualitative change. Once the water is injected, it is naturally clear, unrestrained and free. These two poems express the truth they realized in their study with vivid images, which are enlightening and poetic. Therefore, Chen Yan rated them as "reasoning with facts without corruption".
The truth contained in the two poems "Reading Random Thoughts" belongs to the category of aesthetic principles. The reasoning angle of one poem is to appreciate beauty, and the reasoning angle of another poem is to create beauty. This aesthetic principle has certain universality. For example, if the reader abandons the description object of the poem itself, this truth can be extended completely. For example, if "book" is understood as "book", the contents of books generally do not include books such as medical books and philosophy books. However, as far as literary content is concerned, such as poetry and prose that embodies literary beauty, then we can also think that "flowing water from the source" expresses "inexhaustible literary thoughts" and "one-night spring tide" expresses "erupting literary thoughts" and so on.
Reflections on Reading (Part Two)
Dynasty: Southern Song Dynasty poet: Zhu
Last night, the river was full of springs.
This huge ship is as light as a hair.
Always in vain,
This is a day of freedom.
(In ancient Chinese, "dragon" can also be used as "Meng Chong")
Poetry translation of "reading comprehension" (Ⅱ);
Last night, the river was in high tide.
This huge ship is as light as a feather.
It takes a lot of push and pull to keep driving.
Today, I can drift freely in the middle of the river.
