The main study rooms are: Pavilion in the Tower, Zilaizhai, Qingshi Tower, etc. Pavilion in a building
In the 1980s, housing was in short supply for Shanghai residents. Zhu Yafu's family of six lived in seclusion on the two floors of an old-fashioned house. A board wall in the middle divided Tongqian Building into two. His parents They live in a south-facing room, while he, his wife and four children live in a north-facing room of about ten square meters. Four people are trapped in half a room, and there is not much space left. His wife works in education, and he works as a reporter for a newspaper, both of whom have an indissoluble bond with words. The square table next to the window is where they prepare lessons and write. It is also where their two sons study and do their homework. This small space often becomes a battleground for their family at night. Every time at this time, he thought, how nice it would be to have a study room!
Later, Zhu Yafu built an attic indoors, which was the attic in the building. The pavilion is only a few square meters. People in the pavilion cannot stand upright, but they can sit upright. This is enough. Sitting in the pavilion reminds people of Liu Yuxi's "Inscription on the Humble Room". He seemed to have come from the noisy world to a quiet paradise. You see, a charming and fascinating writing desk is placed in the middle, and a simple bookshelf is made on the wall next to it, which is used to place casually browsed books. There is no bright sunshine in the attic, but there is enough light; we cannot place fragrant jasmine and peonies, so we plant a few shade-loving asparagus and dieffenbachia. When you are tired of studying, it is not interesting to play with the green asparagus bamboo. When night falls over the earth, an 8-watt small lamp can also illuminate the humble pavilion. In Zhu Yafu's mind, it is more spacious and brighter than Jin Shengtan's "Singing Hall", and more quiet and noble than Feng Zikai's "Yuanyuan Hall".
Zilai Zhai
The name "Zilai" originated from 1968. On May Day that year, Zhu Yafu traveled to Hangzhou for his wedding honeymoon. After visiting Hupao Spring and climbing up Yuhuang Mountain, I was already sweating profusely. But when I approached Zilai Cave and stepped onto the Immortal Stone, I suddenly felt the breeze blowing on my face, which was extremely cool. I couldn't help but feel refreshed, so I took a photo in front of Zilai Cave. Later I learned that Zilai Cave means "purple air coming from the east", which is taken from a legend of Lao Dan, the founder of Taoism: When I rode a green ox west out of Hangu Pass, "Guan Ling Yin was delighted to see the purple air floating in the pass." It is a sign of good luck and good luck. In "The Palace of Eternal Life" written by Hong Sheng, there is a sentence: "The purple air comes from the east, and the elegant blue birds descend in front of the courtyard of the Yaochi to the west." So he also became fashionable and came up with the idea of ??naming his study "Zilaizhai". Ren Zheng, Qian Juntao, Du Xuan, Hu Tiesheng and other famous calligraphers in Shanghai were invited to write the name of the restaurant in hand.
On the eve of New Year’s Day in 2002, Zilai Zhai was officially completed. On the south-facing wall, Zhu Yafu hung the vigorous and majestic "Zilai Zhai" plaque inscribed by Mr. Hu Tiesheng on "New Year's Day in Guiyou (1993)", as if "Purple Air Comes from the East", and he suddenly felt like he was alive. Hui. In front of the east wall is a row of bookcases about 3 meters high and nearly 3 meters wide, containing nearly 10,000 of his books in an orderly manner. It is classified and displayed according to modern literature, ancient literature, foreign literature, poetry, prose, economics, philosophy, news writing, Marxist-Leninist works, etc.
His favorite study culture is also displayed on a dedicated shelf. Turn on the spotlights, and the books on the shelves glow beautifully. Standing in front of the bookcase, hands on hips, looking at the books in the cabinet, like reviewing thousands of soldiers under his command, it feels great. At this time, he truly realized what "a room full of books" means!

Next to the large desk, there is another exquisite bookcase. It was specially used to store his own works and autographed books of his friends. There was a pot of ivy placed on the cabinet. The long branches were covered with green leaves, spreading down and dancing, adding bursts of vitality to the study. On the other wall, there is an ancient shelf with a pot of iron tree on it and several antiques, which also add some elegance to the study. There is one calligraphy and painting in the room, and the calligraphy was a gift from Mr. Cao Muyuan, which is recorded from Du Fu's famous saying "Yu Xin's articles are more mature, Ling Yunjian's brushwork is full of creativity", which is what a friend hopes for; the painting is "Osmanthus of Qiandao Lake" by the famous traditional Chinese painting Shi Nanchi Island Range Rover Map". These paintings add a lot of color to the small study.
