Li Shimin (599-649 [1]), the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty, reigned for 23 years, with the title of Zhenguan. The name means "help the world and the people" and was born in Longxi (Tianshui Qin 'an). [2] Li Shimin is not only a famous politician and strategist, but also a calligrapher and poet. Born in the 18th year of Emperor Kai (599), he was in Chang 'an with his father Li Yuan in his early years and founded the Tang Dynasty in June18. He led his troops to the world and made great contributions to the unification of the Tang Dynasty. He was named King of Qin and General Ce Tian. In 626, after Xuanwumen ascended the throne, he created the famous rule of Zhenguan. He was humble to coachable, [3] frugal and frivolous, which enabled the people to recuperate, all ethnic groups lived in harmony, enriched the country and strengthened the people, opened up territory to the outside world, attacked and destroyed East Turkistan and Xueyantuo, hit Goguryeo hard and set up four towns in Anxi, and was honored as Tiankhan by people of all ethnic groups. [4] The temple was named Taizong, Taizong Xiaoguang, the Great Sage of posthumous title, and was buried in Zhaoling.
The Kaiyuan period was a prosperous time in the early years of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (Li Longji). Tang Xuanzong reigned for 44 years. In the early period (Kaiyuan period), politics was clear, efforts were made to govern, talents were employed, and the economy developed rapidly, advocating culture and education, and the world was supreme.
