1. Gao Shi, 704-765, courtesy name Dafu, was born in Bohai County, Cangzhou, now Jingxian County, Hebei Province. He was a minister and frontier poet during the Tang Dynasty and the grandson of Gao Kan, the governor of Andong.
2. Su Shi, 1037 to 1101, named Zizhan, also known as Dongpo Jushi, was born in Meizhou, present-day Meishan, Sichuan. He was a writer, calligrapher and painter in the Northern Song Dynasty. He was one of the eight great masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties. His father Su Xun and his younger brother Su Zhe are collectively known as "Three Su".
