Yan Zhenqing in the Tang Dynasty had exquisite calligraphy, and was good at writing and opening letters.
He created "Yan-style" regular script, which was called "four masters of regular script" together with Zhao Mengfu, Liu Gongquan and Ou Yangxun. Also known as "Yan Liu" with Liu Gongquan, it is called "Yan Jin Liu Gu".

He once studied the strengths of famous artists in Jin, Tang and Five Dynasties, and then integrated the creative styles of Wang Sengqian, Xu Hao, Li Yong, Yan Zhenqing,
Yang Ningshi and other famous artists into his own
