The first lesson of hard-tipped calligraphy

? Following the last lesson, we will continue to share with you the eight methods of Yongzi. We have talked about Side (point) and Le (horizontal) before. Now we will talk about Nu (vertical), Chi (hook), Ce (pick), and Sweep. (long), peck (short) and 甔. Nu (synonymous with: crossbow): Many people are saying that if Nu is not straight, straightness will be weak, but there are few specific explanations. Many students will think of bow strings. Isn’t that straight? Why is there no power in being honest? In fact, the ancients were talking about a hunched back, which seems to be curved but contains powerful power! (Please note that what is said here is not straight, it means straight inside and curved outside. It is not written as curved. Please do not misinterpret the meaning.)

? 误 (ti): homonym for kick. When seeing this, many students will think of playing football, so let’s take playing football as an example to explain how to write hook. Let students come to the podium to perform playing football. If they want to kick the football far, how should they kick it? If you kick with your feet flat, you won't be able to kick far. If you step your feet back and kick forward, you will kick farther! By the way, calligraphy comes from life, and the principle is the same. Write it down hard, then pause and then burst forward, which looks more powerful!

? Ce: Actually, it is to pick a pen. The original meaning of Ce is a horse whip, so it is not difficult to explain to the children. I always use "horse horse and whip" to explain to them, just like the light horse whip. It's like lightly slapping a horse's back, with a lifting movement, but in the characters, it's usually on the left side supporting the peck stroke on the right side. Although the two strokes are staggered, their hearts and minds are connected.

Sweeping: long strokes, like a swallow skimming the water, the strokes gradually speed up, the stroke is light and agile, but the tip of the pen must be focused, otherwise it will be frivolous.

Let me add a sentence here, be sure to interact with the students and let them have room for imagination.

Peck: short or horizontal, here you can let the students guess what it looks like, or you can give them a hint that it looks like the mouth of an animal that treats big trees..., students will know I tell you in unison that it is a woodpecker! The same is true for his pen, like a bird pecking at food, his writing is fast and sharp.

The word Zhe: (zhe, 捺bi) means to split with a knife. The Zhe here comes from the wave of the official script. The style of the characters opens outward, so the former official script became the eight-point script, etc. (These can be passed over, otherwise the class time is not enough), interact with everyone through the twists and turns, imagine that you are at the beach, the wind blows the waves from high to low Then the beach becomes flat... everyone can use their imagination, so the pen has the beauty of twists and turns!

At this point, we have finished explaining the basic strokes of Yongzi Bafa, and then we will briefly talk about the structure of the characters. Lift the pen on the left side of the vertical center line, close the pen on the vertical center line, use the pen from light to heavy (the techniques of using the pen from light, heavy, slow and urgent will be discussed in detail later), tighten the pen to shoulder, and work hard with the side. On the same line, Ce and Luo are written in one stroke, not connected with Nu. Peck and Zhe are interspersed with Nu pen, with Peck pen slightly higher.

During the explanation, let the students write appropriately, but not too many, just one or two. Go around while the students are writing and make corrections in time...

? At this point, I have basically shared with you how to take the first lesson well. If you have any good opinions or suggestions, you can leave a message. Let's irrigate the flowers of the motherland and let them grow vigorously!
