As one of them, cursive script is of great significance. First of all, its artistic effect is the strongest among all fonts, and it can outline a word with coherent brushwork and free and easy brushwork, that is to say, it pays attention not to neatness but to charm.
Many people think that calligraphy is just the running script of Rainbow and Xi Zhi or the regular script of Liu Gongquan, which gives people a sense of square. But in fact, everyone likes to write his own style to the end, so cursive script can fully express his thoughts and writing style.
Just like Zhang Xu, a grass sage in the Tang Dynasty, many people can't read his handwriting, but his art cost a lot. If a painting is at the current price, it must be worth millions. What people value is not how neat his handwriting is, but the artistic conception expressed by his paintings is beyond the reach of ordinary calligraphy.
This is not to say that cursive script is more advanced than other calligraphy. All calligraphy is equal, but it is classified because of different needs. The order of expression represented by each category is different, and cultural circles will lose if they go to any type.
I can't imagine what China's calligraphy circle would look like without cursive script. There is no longer the well-known sage Zhang Xu, and there is no longer the monk Huai Su. Nothing can express our inner feelings more artistically and freely than calligraphy.
As an important part of calligraphy, cursive script cannot disappear, nor can it disappear!
