In order to further enrich himself, my father chose the road of reading and giving lectures. In 1980s, my father and I visited 85-year-old and 79-year-old successively, consulted Sha Menghai, Cheng Shifa, Qiao Mu, collectors and connoisseurs, and got the guidance of famous artists, which inspired me deeply and learned a lot of knowledge. Later, my father and I went to Beijing and visited famous artists in Beijing, such as, Huangzhou,,, Hua, and Feng Li. They talked about calligraphy and exchanged works, which broadened my horizons. Later, my father and I held the "Wu Kang Calligraphy Exhibition" in Xinjiang, Qinghai, Sichuan, Hubei, Nanjing and other places, and made friends with famous people in calligraphy and painting, such as Xiao Xian, Zheng, Xie, Li, Zhong Xijiu, Zhao Meilin and Dong Cailiang, which greatly improved the health-preserving calligraphy created by my father later. Lay a solid foundation for me to practice calligraphy and painting.
He wrote many poems and made friends mainly by writing poems as gifts. He has written so many calligraphy theory critical articles and is knowledgeable. 1965, the famous painter Shi Lu presented him with a collection of Japanese calligraphy, and he often studied and discussed Japanese calligraphy. At the Mifei Book Fair in Hubei, Zifeng Nakamura, president of the Japanese Calligraphy Association, praised and evaluated that his father's works partly absorbed the style of Japanese calligraphy, so he invited his father to hold calligraphy exhibitions in Japan for three consecutive times, which was deeply loved by the Japanese people.
