At the beginning of learning, it is suggested that we should first look at the tablet, such as the preface of Wang Xizhi's holy teachings. This is a good choice, because many of the actions of pulling wires in the tablet are ignored or worn out. We can see that the calligrapher's general idea arrangement, to a certain extent, is additive education, plus the ingenious details lacking in the tablet.
There are many contemporary people, and their artistic ideas are different. The most famous ones are Shen, Sha Menghai, Zhao Puchu and Ouyang Zhongshi. Some of them specialize in regular script, but it is precisely because of the basic skills of regular script that they have created another beauty of running script. Their own writing suggests that beginners should not imitate casually, and improper imitation can easily backfire.
Textbooks are not all good books, nor are they suitable for everyone. I suggest you learn some ancient inscriptions, which are priceless and good teaching materials.
