Speech at the symposium on Gao Liangliang's calligraphy works

Jiapingao

Before I knew Gao Gaoliang, I had seen many of his calligraphy works, which were profound in traditional techniques and full of quite a few modern elements. The year I met him, he was attending an exhibition of intellectual calligraphy works. Is a group of young calligraphers, advocating that calligraphy should keep pace with the times and carrying out an ambitious revolution in China, especially in Shaanxi. This exhibition has a great influence. It can be said that these people have officially entered the room and have been justified since then. After so many years, they have grown, changed and promoted the Shaanxi book circle. Gao Gaoliang is one of the most active people, and my contact with him has increased and I have become friends.

Maybe it's because of my aesthetic taste. What I appreciate most is that there is a strong spirit in Kuaigaoliang's calligraphy. It has been many years, and the style of paste has prevailed in the book world. This once popular inscription style has made the book world too rough and impetuous. However, when an atmosphere comes, it stands in the sky, but it also makes many flowers pitch in the breeze, especially when the wind blows from the south to the northwest. Kuaigaoliang may be caused by living environment or his innate determination. His calligraphy is refined, ugly but not impetuous, elegant and chic, but not charming. He pays attention to form, but he is not affected. Thirty years ago, I met a Taoist in Huashan. He wrote me four words: sea breeze and mountain bones. For thirty years, I have been thinking about the meaning of these four words, and now I want to deepen my understanding of these four words from bright calligraphy. I once expressed my dissatisfaction with the current situation of literary language, such as teasing, joking and not talking seriously. In the world of calligraphy, there are also phenomena such as being indifferent, pretending to be noble, redesigning, emphasizing luxury, completely divorced from the practical basis of calligraphy, or exaggerating details in traditional calligraphy, without life and feeling. The style of writing can not be ignored, especially at present, which is as big as the sky, attached to the times and affects the times. The era we live in is a great era of great social change. It has all kinds of stereos, and a clock is being cast. As soon as the bell rings, it will be overwhelmed. Based on this understanding, I appreciate Kuaigaoliang's calligraphy and look forward to his development.
