Zheng Banqiao (1693— 1765) was an official, painter and writer in the Qing dynasty. Name Xie, word Kerou, Han nationality, Xinghua, Jiangsu. He lived in Yangzhou all his life and made a living by selling paintings. He, Li, Li Yi, Jin Nong, Huang Shen, Gao Xiang and Wang were also called "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou".
His poems, books and paintings are outstanding and independent, and are known as the "three wonders" of the world. He is good at drawing orchids, bamboos, stones, pines, chrysanthemums and other plants. He painted bamboo most in his life, followed by orchids and stones, but he also painted pine trees and chrysanthemums. He is a representative literati painter in Qing Dynasty, and his masterpiece is Lanzhu Map. Author of Complete Works of Banqiao.
Most of Zheng Banqiao's bamboo paintings and poems on paintings are about loving bamboo, which shows the tenacity of "taking root in rocks, accommodating the east, west, north and south winds" and expresses the integrity and spirit of "writing a thin bamboo, throwing it away if you are not an official". All the charm of bamboo, noble and upright, honest and upright, elegant and heroic, were fully demonstrated by him.
Extended data
Zheng Banqiao was the top scholar in the imperial examination of Kangxi, and he was a juren in the tenth year of Yongzheng. In the first year of Qianlong (1736), he was a second-class scholar in Bingchen. Fifty years old, he served as the magistrate of Fanxian and Weixian in Shandong for twelve years. The idea of "benefiting the people with ambition" led him to take measures such as "opening warehouses to help the people, famine year after year" and "donating base without losing money", which aroused the dissatisfaction of corrupt officials and evil gentry and was relegated.
After that, I made a living by selling paintings, including poems and paintings, book titles, paintings and poems and paintings. Appreciating the poems inscribed in each painting is not only a wonderful reproduction of calligraphy, but also a comprehensive art that makes calligraphy and painting set each other off. Books and paintings are organically integrated, which constitutes a unified poetry and gives people a comprehensive and perfect artistic enjoyment. ?
Zheng Banqiao's calligraphy, which is a mixture of official script and running script, calls itself "six and a half books" and is called "Banqiao Book". Most of his paintings are bluegrass and bamboo stones, and Zheng Banqiao's calligraphy art with bluegrass and bamboo as its soul is unique in the history of China's calligraphy.
"Six and a half minutes" is a ridiculous title given by Zheng Banqiao for his original calligraphy. There is a kind of "eight-point script" with more strokes in official script, that is, the so-called "six-thirty", which refers to official script in general, but is mixed with other regular scripts such as Kai, Xing, Zhuan and Cao.
