Old friends frequently waved to me, bid farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower, and traveled to Yangzhou on this catkin-like, flowery March spring day.
The lonely sail shadow of my friend faded away and disappeared at the end of the blue sky, only seeing a line of the Yangtze River, heading for the distant sky.
The Yellow Crane Tower sends Meng Haoran to Yangzhou:
Old friends frequently waved to me, bid farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower, and traveled to Yangzhou in this beautiful spring filled with catkins and flowers.
My friend's sail shadow faded away and disappeared at the end of the blue sky, only seeing the first line of the Yangtze River and heading for the distant horizon.
The Yellow Crane Tower Farewell to Meng Haoran in Yangzhou is one of the masterpieces of Li Bai, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty. This is a farewell poem, with parting feelings and scenery. Based on the colorful and mottled fireworks in spring and the endless Yangtze River, this poem tries its best to render a farewell picture of the poet with open artistic conception, endless emotions, bright colors and charming feelings.

Creation background
While living in Anlu, Li Bai met Meng Haoran who was twelve years older than him, and they soon became good friends. In March of the 18th year of Kaiyuan (730), Li Bai learned that Meng Haoran was going to Guangling and asked Meng Haoran to meet him in Jiangxia (now Wuchang District, Wuhan). A few days later, Meng Haoran took a boat to the east, and Li Bai personally sent it to the river. This song "The Yellow Crane Tower Farewell Meng Haoran on the way to Yangzhou" was written when I left.
For Li Bai, the parting of two romantic and chic poets is also a yearning parting, which is vividly shown by the poet with the gorgeous scenery in March in spring and the vast picture of boating on the Yangtze River, and seeing the details of the solitary sail.
