The origin of the Double Ninth Festival: According to legend, in the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a man named Huan Jing in Runan, and the plague brought a great plague to his hometown, so his parents died. He went to the southeast mountain to worship the immortal Fei Changfang as his teacher. Huan Jing took the demon-reducing dragon sword given by the master and wore Dai Yue, studying hard and practicing hard. One day, Fei Changfang said, "On September 9, the plague will come again, so you can go back and kill pests." And gave him a bag of dogwood leaves and a bottle of chrysanthemum wine, so that the elders in their hometown could climb high to avoid disaster. He gave everyone the leaves of Cornus officinalis and chrysanthemum wine, and Mo Wen was afraid to go near them. He fought the plague demon and finally killed it.
Since then, there has been the custom of climbing mountains, inserting dogwood and drinking chrysanthemum wine on the Double Ninth Festival.
