The next line of the poem "No one recognizes the broken bowl of mango shoes" is: Which bridge of cherry blossoms have you crossed!
From the "Poetry of Skills" by the modern poet Su Manshu
When the eight-foot flute is playing in the house in the spring rain, when will we return to watch the tide in Zhejiang?
No one recognizes the broken bowl of mango shoes, which bridge of cherry blossoms you have to cross!
"Poetry of True Story" embodies the poet's desolate life experience and his loneliness full of hesitation and confusion about his future. "Spring Rain on the Tower with Shakuhachi Flute" first creates a sad and confused realm in the rain: in the misty drizzle, the poet is leaning on the small building of a Japanese house, listening to Momosuke playing "Spring Rain" on the Shakuhachi Flute, and unexpectedly, It elicits the poet's endless nostalgia. "Spring Rain" refers to both the real spring scene and the name of the music played by the flute, a pun. "When will I return to see the tide in Zhejiang?" It not only means that the sound of the flute caused him to miss his motherland, but it also means that he was concerned about the revolutionary thoughts in the country at that time. "No one recognizes the broken mango shoes" points out the poet's identity as a monk, and also implies the poet's miserable life experience. "Which cherry blossom bridge should I cross?" expresses the sadness of life and the feeling that life is like a dream. The cherry blossoms in Japan are gorgeous but short-lived. The poet walks alone in the sky full of cherry blossoms, but also drifts away, not knowing where he is going. Su Manshu expressed his melancholy of homesickness and understanding of life in a dreamlike poetic state.
