Feeding mode of long-eared owl
The breeding season is from April to June, when singing is particularly popular. Because courtship is mostly carried out at night, the way is relatively simple, so we can only do some close-up performances, such as bowing, flapping our wings, kissing each other, tidying our feathers and so on. Sometimes we encourage our wings, make strange cracks in our mouths and change our feet in turn. Nesting in the forest usually uses the old nests of crows, magpies or other raptors, and sometimes nests in tree holes. Each nest lays 3-8 eggs, usually 4-6 eggs. Egg white, oval in shape, with a size of 39-45mm×32-35mm and an average of 43mm×33mm, weighs 19.6g, and the hatching process is entirely undertaken by the female, with an incubation period of 27-28 days. Its chicks mature late and leave the nest after 45-50 days of incubation.
