Wuhan East Lake Eco-tourism Scenic Area, referred to as East Lake Scenic Area, is located in the east of Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is a national AAAAA-level tourist scenic spot, a national civilized scenic spot demonstration site and the first batch of national key scenic spots. The East Lake Eco-tourism Scenic Area covers an area of 88 square kilometers and consists of six areas: Tingtao, Moshan, Luo Yan, Piper, Baima and Luohong.
East Lake has been a tourist attraction since ancient times. Qu Sang Yuan sang in the East Lake Zepan, and drummed in the East Lake to supervise the war (Qinghe Bridge Ancient Bridge Site); During the Three Kingdoms period, Liu Bei set up an altar to worship heaven in Moshan, East Lake. Yuan Shuo, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, praised the East Lake with "only saying that the West Lake is in the Imperial Capital, and Wuchang said the East Lake". Li Bai writes poems on the Eagle Terrace by the East Lake; After the founding of New China, Mao Zedong visited East Lake 48 times and received 94 groups of foreign dignitaries from 64 countries in East Lake. More than 50 years ago, Zhu De wrote the poem "East Lake will make West Lake better for the time being and stronger than West Lake in the future"; Chen Yunhe, a contemporary writer, wrote in his essay "The Yangtze River, the Intestine of China": East Lake, the stomach of Wuhan, praised "how many historical stories have been digested, and it has also strengthened the body of a city". In modern times, there are historical and cultural sites such as Jiunvdun, Taozhu Pagoda, qu yuan memorial hall in zigui county in Zigui County and Zhubei Pavilion, all of which are here. Hubei Provincial Museum is a national key museum with more than 200,000 pieces of cultural relics and 945 pieces (sets) of national first-class cultural relics, which is a cultural treasure in Hubei. The chime of Ceng Houyi, the sword of Gou Jian, the county magistrate of Yunxian County, is a bone fossil, which is the treasure of the town hall.
