The Poetic Background of "Out of the Plug" (Open Class)

Filler (1)

It is still the moon and border pass in Qin and Han dynasties, and the enemy has fought a protracted war.

If Wei Qing, who attacked Longcheng, and Li Guang, the flying general, were alive today, the Huns would not be allowed to go south to spend their horses in Yinshan.

In popular language, this poem sings a bold and open-minded Tang poem that swallowed Wan Li's momentum. From Wang Changling, a frontier poet we once knew and studied in junior high school. I once thought that Wang Changling, the author of this poem, must have been through many battles and looked down on life and death. In fact, Wang Changling did live in the frontier fortress for a period of time, and also created a large number of vigorous and far-reaching frontier fortress poems. He himself was even called the "Seven Wonders" by the world. But Wang Changling's life is bumpy, and his own experience is not as glamorous as his resounding reputation. So, what did Wang Changling, who wrote such a frontier poem, experience in his life?

Dojo cultivation

Wang Changling was born in Jinyang, Hedong in 698 (Tang Dynasty), near Taiyuan, Shanxi today. Wang Changling in his youth is very different from his peers, and his personality is almost the same as our modern youth. Perhaps the rebellious mentality is at work, or perhaps Wang Changling was born with an aversion to taking the ordinary road. When his peers were busy reading classics and gaining fame, he decided to go to the Dojo to repair the monastery, and he went to Songshan to practice Buddhism. Yes, you are right. It is the famous Songshan Mountain with Shaolin Temple. It is difficult for us to understand why Wang Changling is so interested in monasticism that he runs counter to his peers. But we can guess what Wang Changling must have thought in those years when he was a monk in the Dojo, because after he left the Dojo, he chose another road that scholars like him were afraid of. What road is this?

Leave your name at the frontier fortress

Wang Changling, who came down from the mountain, was not willing to be ordinary. When he arrived at Helong and left Yumen, he ran to the Great Wall like a runaway wild horse to appreciate the magnificent local culture beyond the Great Wall. If an ordinary person, a trip to the Great Wall will not be known by many people, let alone written in the history books, but Wang Changling can make a name for himself in the history books. The reason is that Wang Changling's repressed poetic nature broke out. During his stay in frontier fortress, Wang Changling wrote many poems describing frontier fortress scenery and frontier fortress soldiers. His poems are characterized by broad artistic conception, mellow language and harmonious tone, and what is more worth mentioning is him.

join the army

There is a dark snow-capped mountain in Qinghai, with long white clouds and a lonely city looking at Yumenguan.

Yellow sand wears golden armor in hundreds of battles, but the loulan is not returned.

The words "isolated city" and "prospect" well reflect the sinister environment of the frontier fortress, the sparse population and the inner feelings of soldiers who are homesick but not at home. Wang Changling not only described these things in this poem, but also described the bravery and tenacity of soldiers and their determination to serve their country in the last two sentences. Wang Changling's description of soldiers' strong spirit is also the most basic source of national strength and prestige in the Tang Dynasty. With this brave soldier, why worry about the uncertain world?

Officialdom frustration

Wang Changling, who has been in frontier fortress for several years, is 30 years old and finally begins to think about his future career. As a result, Wang Changling took part in the Imperial Examination at the age of 30, and the years when he became famous later than his peers did not bring him too many disadvantages. Wang Changling took the imperial examination for the first time and was awarded the secretary of the provincial school (official to Surabaya Health School). This official is equivalent to the librarian of the National Library. Wang Changling's main duty is to correct the code and correct mistakes. Wang Changling's rich frontier life experience and the ambition of any peers make him never satisfied with his sesame-sized official who has no real power, but Wang Changling has no choice but to stay in this position day after day.

Wang Changling, who has no background, has an unpretentious heart for the country and the people. It is precisely because of this "humble and dare not forget to worry about the country" that Wang Changling's soul runs through all the time. So, in a few years, Wang Changling was demoted because of his outspoken remarks that offended the court dignitaries. In the following years, Wang Changling's official career was always ups and downs, but none of them had a direct impact on the current situation.

In 740 AD, Wang Changling was relegated again in this year, and the destination of this relegation was Longbiao County, Hunan Province. During the ups and downs in Wang Changling in recent years, he met Meng Haoran and Li Bai who were equally patriotic but not reused. During this time, the three people forged a deep friendship. Li Bai heard that his old friend was demoted again, and that he was demoted to a desolate dragon elephant at that time, so he wrote a poem to comfort his lonely heart.

I heard that Wang Changling left and moved to Longbiaoyao to deliver this.

After the easy autumn, cuckoo clock, I heard you pass five streams.

I entrust my sad thoughts to the moon, hoping to accompany you to the west of Yelang.

Li Bai hopes to pin his thoughts on the bright moon, and let the bright moon accompany Wang Changling to Yelang with the breeze to comfort Wang Changling's broken heart.

Killed for it.

Wang Changling, who is unhappy in officialdom, is disheartened. At the age of 59, he simply resigned and went home. This year, Wang Changling left Longbiao, crossed Chenxi and Wuling, and went east by boat. I can't understand how painful and unwilling this seven-legged master who devoted his life to serving the country and created a lot of frontier poems for the world was when he chose to let go and leave. But I think the shadow of this 59-year-old man must be extremely lonely.

What I fear most in this world is not that you have no strength, but that you have strength and a pure heart, but others don't recognize you and don't even give you a chance to try.

The following year, 60-year-old Wang Changling was killed by Qiu Xiao, the secretariat of Bozhou, while passing through Bozhou. The history books did not record why Wang Changling was killed by him, which became an unsolved mystery in history. However, there is a thought-provoking saying in the name of Wang Changling, the new biography of the Tang Dynasty in the Yuan Dynasty: "It is a secretariat to go home with a sword and fire." A surnamed Xiao killed Wang Changling out of jealousy, but I don't know what he did to my Chinese culture. It's really hateful.

Throughout Wang Changling's life, although he was bohemian and unconventional when he was young, he always cared about the world and took it as his duty to serve the country. It's a pity that he was unlucky and never shone in a position suitable for him. Although he has regrets all his life, his frontier poems and the spirit of "being too modest to forget the country" will last forever. The Chinese nation is great because there are countless people with lofty ideals like him.
