Brief introduction of Chikan town

Chikan Town is located in the economic development zone in the southwest of the Pearl River Delta, Guangdong Province, on the bank of the Tanjiang River in the middle of Kaiping City, adjacent to three urban ports, with an area of 12 km from the downtown area of Kaiping, with Enping and Yangjiang on the top, Jiangmen on the bottom, Guangzhou, Heshan, Gaoming and Xinxing on the north and Taishan on the south, with an area of10.4 km2 (including 5 km2 in the town) Chikan Town originally belonged to Xinhui County, because the tributaries of Tanjiang River surround Chikan Town 1. Chikan is built along the Tanjiang River, with villages on the south bank and cities on the north bank. The arcades are all the same, far exceeding the huge buildings in Kaiping Old Street. There is a small road named "Ermayina Road" sandwiched between two main roads along the east-west road along the river, and several longitudinal roads cross it to form the urban road network. Chikan town has a quaint taste of combining Chinese and western. Therefore, it is called "the fifth ancient town of China" 2. Chikan Town has been successively rated as a famous historical and cultural town in China, a national key town, a central town in Guangdong Province, a strong education town in Guangdong Province and one of the top ten characteristic towns and streets in Jiangmen City (as of 20 13, 1.5).
