Eight hundred miles of Dongting, the smoke is vast. Poets often describe its weather, leaving many famous sentences, such as "Clouds, dreams and fog around Yueyang", "There is Wu in the east and Chu in the south, and I can see the endless floating of heaven and earth". However, Tao Yong's quatrains are unique. With delicate and gentle brushwork, it depicts a beautiful picture of "Cheng Hongzhan is green and the objects and shadows set each other off" (Han Yu's Four Records of Fighting in Yueyang Tower), which melts beautiful myths and legends into a novel and beautiful chapter.
This poem describing Dongting Junshan is unique from the beginning. The poet did not write about Junshan first, but began with the reflection of Junshan. "Smoke and waves don't move" is about the calm of the lake; "Shadow" is about the shadow of Junshan reflected in the water; "Heavy" is the word for dignified mountain shadow. "Blue has no emerald color." Blue is lake color and green is mountain color. Staring at the reflection, of course, you can only see the green hills but not blue lagoon. These two sentences take the lake as a mirror, and the color contrast between light blue and dark green sets off the striking reflection of Junshan. This is a quiet reflection of lakes and mountains. This mysterious tranquility can easily lead to the poet's reverie. Therefore, in the description of lakes and mountains, there are three or four sentences that combine the myths and legends of Mrs. Hexiang. According to ancient myths and legends, Shun Fei and Xiang Jun's sisters became the goddess of Xiang Shui, swimming in Dongting Lake and the mountains. Junshan, also known as Xiangshan, got its name. So the sentence "suspected narcissus dressing place" seems to be empty: Dongting Junshan is probably the place where the water fairy lives and dresses, right? Then euphemistically point out: "in the middle of a spiral indigo mirror", the' Junshan' reflected in this water looks like a fairy blue bun in the mirror.
Junshan Mountain in Dongting attracts many poets because of its beauty. Liu Yuxi's two poems "Looking at Dongting Lake in the distance, there are green snails in the silver plate" are also described by snails, but this is a picture of Junshan overlooking the water surrounded by white waves. Song Yong's Tao Dou is depicted from the reflection in the water, which is lighter and more beautiful. Starting from a few words, not only the reflection of lakes and mountains is realistic, but also the brushwork is concise, and the dark green reflection in the water reflected by Junshan culvert is painted with strong colors. Then, the poetry turns to fantasy, attaching myths and legends to the reflection of Junshan, winning with meaning and writing vividly and lightly. This kind of brushwork reflects each other, forming a novel, ingenious and beautiful style of this little poem, and presenting the beauty of Junshan to readers in both form and spirit.
