There is a poem that says, "Cherry Su Fan Mouth, Willow Small Waist", which refers to Xiao Man and Su Fan who have been in contact with Bai Juyi.

By the time Bai Juyi was in his sixties, he suffered from wind disease and was paralyzed. He knew that he was getting older and worse, so he sold his horse and asked Su Fan to leave him, hoping that she could get married before she was too old. However, the horse he sold came back crying and refused to leave. Su Fan was also very sad, so she told Bai Juyi with tears that the horse and its owner had been in love for five years and refused to leave. I have served you for ten years. It's ugly now, but it's not time to die. The horse still has the strength to carry you, but if I leave this time, I really can't come back. So Bai Juyi took her in.

However, at the age of 70, Bai Juyi sent Xiao Man and Su Fan away because he didn't want these two women to spend their lives like this.
