The endless wind and moon of Spring and Autumn;
Why should women and cows be left and right?
——This is a couplet in the Qianlong's "Jingming Tower". Later it was used as a couplet in the north side hall of Jingming Tower.
The women here refer to the female textile workers in the weaving and dyeing bureau in the Farming and Weaving Scenic Area on the west bank of Kunming Lake, symbolizing the Weaver Girl, and the cow refers to the copper bull on the east bank of Kunming Lake, symbolizing the Cowherd.
The general idea of ??this couplet is that this place has a quiet environment and beautiful scenery. It has endless charm and charm all year round, not to mention the copper cattle and farming and weaving pictures in Zhenshui. The scenery dotted on the left and right sides of the lake often reminds people of the wonderful and moving myth and legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl meeting in the Milky Way. It is implied that Kunming Lake symbolizes the Tianhe River, and the Summer Palace naturally becomes paradise.
