A sailor said:
Inspired by his favorite anchor.
That white spray ...
A sailor said:
What pleased him most was that the anchor was broken.
Noise of chain ...
Looking forward to leaving
Hope of arrival

A good poem can stimulate people's inspiration and fantasy, and usually readers know more than poets write. Ai Qing's Hope is such a good poem. There are only six sentences in it, which describe the sailors' joyful mood and two kinds of expectations when they "anchor" and "anchor": one is "looking forward to sailing", so they like to see "white waves aroused by anchor"; One is "expecting to arrive", so I am very happy to hear "the sound of broken chains". As for why sailors like to "look forward to starting" and why they are happy to "look forward to arriving", the poet did not say, leaving it to readers to think.
