There are many explanations about the theme of the poem "Jinse", such as the theory of love, mourning, listening to songs, self-preface, self-injury and so on. Some seemingly illusory images are presented in the poem, which are clearly visible, although not true: Zhuang Sheng dreams of butterflies, cuckoos weep for blood, beautiful jade makes smoke, and tears of the sea.
