But the sunset is infinitely beautiful, so why feel melancholy about where dusk is coming?

Zhu Ziqing: But there is no need to feel melancholy until dusk when the sunset is infinitely beautiful

Zhu Ziqing, formerly known as Zhu Zihua, applied for the undergraduate degree at Peking University in 1917, in order to encourage himself not to lose heart, not to be discouraged, and to persevere in difficulties. Since he was innocent, he took the word "Ziqing" from "Ning Zhiqing is honest and honest" in "Chu Ci Bu Ju" and changed his name to "Zhu Ziqing".

When Zhu Ziqing was teaching at Southwest Associated University, he enthusiastically encouraged his students, but he did not praise them easily. He would often get into heated arguments with students over an issue. He once said to the students wittily: "It is not easy for you to convince me, and it is not easy for me to convince you. Even my wife is not convinced, although the spirit of democracy lies in persuasion."

Zhu Ziqing is very serious about teaching. , he has specific regulations on the format of students' homework: the first page of the homework should be blank, write down the topics of the semester's compositions in sequence, and indicate the starting and ending pages for easy reference.

Zhu Ziqing was serious and serious in his academic studies, and never indulged in nonsense. In 1934, at the invitation of Zheng Zhenduo, he wrote an article "On Realism and Picturesqueness" in one night. The material was based on "Pei Wen Yun Mansion". Since he had no time to check the original book, he wrote at the end of the article that he was "copied from "Pei Wen Yun Mansion". "Mansion".

When Zhu Ziqing was writing, he liked to touch the tip of his pen to the paper, and his speed was not fast. He often had to think carefully before writing, so he did not need to make many deletions after writing to make it a masterpiece. When he was at Tsinghua University, he could only write 500 words a day; but Li Changzhi once wrote a 15,000-word paper one day, plus two essays.

Zhu Ziqing, Pu Jiangqing and others make an appointment every Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm in the conference room of the Chinese Department of Tsinghua University to cut and paste "Poetic Talks of Past Dynasties" and "Sequel to Poetry Talks of Past Dynasties", and set up a separate general discussion and miscellaneous items, all arranged in Roman letters. Half a year later, the cutting and pasting of the "Manuscript of the Poetry Series" was completed.

Cicadas are mentioned in Zhu Ziqing's "Moonlight over the Lotus Pond". Some people say that cicadas do not scream at night. After consulting an entomologist, he said: "We often make inferences based on common experience. For example, some cicadas do not cry at night, and it is inferred that all cicadas do not cry at night."

On New Year's Eve in 1921, Ye Shengtao and Zhu Ziqing had a long conversation and lit two white candles. Zhu Ziqing immediately wrote "New Year's Eve" with only three lines: "In the light of two swaying white candles on New Year's Eve, I watched helplessly as 1921 passed gently by."

In August 1923, Yu Pingbo wrote "Qinhuai River in the Sound of Oars and Lights", and in October of the same year, Zhu Ziqing also wrote an article with the same name. It turned out that two people went there together, and each wrote about what they saw. Instead, they left two prose travel notes for posterity, so that they can compare the similarities and differences.

In his later years, Zhu Ziqing put a note under the glass plate of his writing desk, writing: "But the sunset is infinitely beautiful, so there is no need to be melancholy near dusk."

When Zhu Ziqing passed away, Xu Deheng wrote an elegiac couplet: " I have been teaching for thirty years, teaching and learning at the same time, learning from the times, and learning from the youth. If you are able to live like this, you are a sincere and healthy person. If you survive for five years, the harder it is, the harder you struggle, fighting against ugliness, fighting against violence, and dying. Already, I am crying.
