Anything that meets the criteria of "faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance" is a good translation.
Existing high-quality versions in China:
Gardeners' Collection and Gitanjali, translated by Bing Xin. Bing Xin is a poet with superb writing skills. These two poems are ethereal and fresh, and the themes of childlike innocence, maternal love and natural beauty are like Bing Xin's writing style, or Bing Xin is greatly influenced by them. These two versions of Bing Xin are classics.
The Crescent Moon and the Birds, translated by Zheng Zhenduo. Zheng is also a famous writer. His translation of Tagore's works can accurately express Tai Weng's poems, but it is slightly inferior to Bing Xin's in the form of poetry translation, but it also belongs to everyone.
Other translations such as Shi Zhen, Yan Wu and Xu Hanlin can only say that the quality is acceptable.
2. The translation skills of foreign literary works should not be underestimated, because even the classics handed down from generation to generation, such as those translated by educated, savvy and average translators, are actually ruined, while the fine works are diluted and ruined. Translation level is very important.
