But their most outstanding achievement is Children and Family Fairy Tales, now commonly known as Grimm's Fairy Tales, which took decades to complete (18 12- 1857), including more than 200 fairy tales and more than 600 stories. Among them, The Frog Prince, Cinderella, Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood are very popular. Because these fairy tales originated from folk stories, and the brothers Grimm, as scholars, try their best to keep their original appearance, so most of them are rough and more suitable for children to read.
The earliest Chinese translation of Grimm's Fairy Tales was the Complete Works of Grimm's Fairy Tales published by the Commercial Press in 1934, which was translated by Wei Yixin according to Leipzig's German Masterpieces from Books, including Children and Family Stories and Children's Religious Legends, with 2 10 fairy tales. Since then, it has been reprinted according to it.
