The Queen's Poems

Ronald Stuart Thomas (19 13-2000), a leading Welsh poet, is one of the most tenacious, pure and persistent lyric poets in the 20th century. He was rich in creation all his life, and won various poetry awards many times, including the Queen's Poetry Gold Award. His poetry creation can be roughly divided into two stages. Before 1970s, his poems were mainly about Welsh villagers and landscapes, history and culture, and their own experiences as priests. Since 1970s, the dialogue between the poet and the "invisible God" has explored the inner spiritual world of mankind, so he is also called the greatest religious poet of our time. His poetic style is as proud, rigorous, tenacious and unyielding as a human being, and he is unique in English poetry.

1895, Wells wrote and published the novella Time Machine. This is Wells' most successful science fiction work, which also made him famous.

Time machine (1895) is the earliest successful undergraduate course in Wells.

Fantasy novel is also one of his best works.

Author: In an era like Thomas, wise men are not silent.

Just by the endless noise

Choked. So retreat to

Books that no one reads. The words of two counselors

Let the public listen. People who work day and night.

Shout: "Buy!" The other is more insightful,

He said, "sell, sell your peace." Throughout the poem, the author does not express much language, but the author uses metaphors in several places, and the whole and theme are satire, sharp satire on reality (times). In order to increase the depth and strength of this satire, the two sentences handled by the author at the end are undoubtedly excellent, even the highest highlight of the whole poem, which has become the most powerful highlight of the whole poem. So that after reading it, readers have to admire the author's powerful exposition and his hatred and contempt for the times and the "buying and selling" of the times.

But the author is more ingenious, such a wonderful ending does not come from the language of the author's own structure, but from the dialogue between two "counselors": "One keeps shouting day and night: buy! /Another one is more insightful. He said, "sell, sell your peace. "To a certain extent, such quotations are very realistic, so they are also very convincing, far stronger than the poet's well-structured language. Therefore, after reading this short poem, the reader's senses will temporarily stay in this powerful quotation dialogue, and his thinking will be unconsciously driven by the poet, leaving all kinds of thoughts. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
