What does it mean that it seems ordinary and the most amazing? It is easy but difficult to succeed.

"It seems ordinary and the most amazing, but it is easy but difficult to achieve" means: it seems ordinary and is actually the most amazing, but it seems easy to write but is full of hardships.

This sentence comes from the "Poem on Zhang Siye" written by Wang Anshi, a writer of the Northern Song Dynasty. The original poem is as follows:

Suzhou Siye is famous for his poetry, and his music and music are all wonderful.

What seems ordinary is the most extraordinary, but it is easy but difficult to achieve. ?

Translation:

Suzhou Siye's poetry has long been famous, and everyone praised his Yuefu for its superb and fascinating style.

What seems ordinary is actually the most bizarre, but writing it seems easy but full of hardships.

"Poem Inscribed on Zhang Siye" is a seven-character quatrain written by Wang Anshi, a writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. This poem is a commentary on Zhang Ji's poems and a summary of the poet's own experience. The first two sentences of the poem speak highly of Zhang Ji's poetry. The last two sentences talk about the dialectical relationship between "ordinary" and "extraordinary", "easy" and "hardship" in poetry creation.

Creative background

In the late Southern Tang Dynasty, Zhang Ji collected more than 400 poems by Zhang Ji. When the Song Dynasty poet Qian Gongfu finalized the manuscript and published it, he named it "Muduo Collection" in 12 volumes. He printed a set and gave it to Wang Anshi. Wang Anshi read it carefully, and the more he read, the more interested he became. He couldn't help feeling that "it seems ordinary and the most rugged, but it is easy but difficult to achieve." So he created this poem to express his affirmation and praise of Zhang Ji's poems, and also gave a high evaluation to Zhang Ji himself.

In fact, "It seems ordinary but it is extraordinary, and it is easy but difficult to achieve." It is not only applicable to poetry creation, but also to other things. Don’t despise or ignore things that seem “ordinary”. Some “wonders” are hidden in the seemingly ordinary appearance. Only by putting in "hard" work can we do something that seems ordinary but is actually extraordinary.
