Ge Yanxing, a poem written by Gao Shi, enthusiastically praised the heroic patriotic spirit of the soldiers, and severely criticized the hedonism and corruption of the generals and the rashness of underestimating the enemy, which made the bitterness, solemnity and shamelessness form a distinct echo. Taking history as a mirror, the conclusion points out that the bad consequences caused by improper use of personnel by the imperial court are more profound than the general thinking of fame because of Jingbian, aiming at cracking down on corrupt and incompetent generals.
