Li Bai, whose real name is Taibai and whose real name is Qinglian Jushi, was a great poet in the Tang Dynasty in China, and was called "Poet Fairy" by later generations. He was born in Lake Issyk-Kul in Central Asia. Fortunately, it belongs to the territory of the Tang Dynasty.
Li Bai read widely when he was a child. He claimed to be "at the age of five, a hundred schools at the age of ten", "skillful in fencing" and "reading strange books". He once lived in seclusion in Emei Mountain, Sichuan. Because Li Bai loves nature very much, except for the short-term Hanlin bachelor in Chang 'an, he spent his whole life wandering immortals, visiting Taoism, getting drunk and writing poems. He lived in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and the feudal economy and culture flourished. Therefore, most of Li Bai's poems and songs contain strong political desire and patriotic spirit. He hopes that he can create miracles and realize the ideal of "helping the poor and settling down", and he is confident that "I am naturally useful". However, the real life and rough experience made Li Bai depressed and frustrated, and the thought of not meeting talents dominated most of his years. When he visited Chang 'an, He Zhangzhi praised Li Bai as a "fallen fairy" and called his poems "can make ghosts cry", so he became famous in Kyoto. A few days later, Li Bai was summoned by Li Longji, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and was ordered to worship the Hanlin. However, these two years of court life have made Li Bai see the debauchery and decay of the highest class of the feudal ruling class. Li Bai was finally pushed out of Chang 'an because of his noble personality, arrogance and disdain for officials, and began his traveling life again. Li Bai and Du Fu met Luoyang for the first time and formed a profound friendship, which became a much-told story in the history of literature. He and Du Fu were called "Du Li" by later generations.
Li Bai's poems and songs are full of romanticism, which has made great achievements in art and has profound practical significance in thought. He is good at combining myth and fantasy with artistic exaggeration. His imagination is rich, his conception is unique, his hospitality is full, his rhetoric is gorgeous, his style is elegant, and his momentum is bold and unrestrained, which has reached the artistic realm of "the pen is stormy and the poem is weeping". Of course, Li Bai's poems that despise powerful people and pursue ideals have always been loved by future generations, just as he once sang loudly: "Alas, how can I bow and scrape to those high-ranking officials whose sincere faces will never be seen!" "One day, I will ride the long wind, break through the stormy waves, sail straight and build a bridge on the deep sea." Li Bai also wrote a poem reflecting the separation of flesh and blood brought by war and the pain brought to women, which left a deep impression on me. "A bright moon hangs in Beijing, and ten thousand hammers wash it. The autumn wind blew Yi Dao's voice, and every household remembered the people guarding the border. Oh, when will the Tatar army be conquered and when will my husband come back from the long battle! "Li Bai also expresses his fantastic feelings from time to time, such as" Oh, let a man with spirit take risks where he likes, and don't point his golden cup at the moon! " .
Another important advantage of Li Bai is that he is good at learning from the predecessors, especially from Yuefu folk songs, thus inheriting the excellent traditions from the Book of Songs to Chuci and even the Six Dynasties, breaking his own path and not being bound by the predecessors. His "Seven Classics" and "Seven Exquisites" have a great influence on later generations. However, many of Li Bai's poems and songs were lost because of the war. There are about 900 existing poems, of which 30 volumes of Li Taibai Collection have been handed down from generation to generation.
Note: According to some ancient books, Li Bai is only one poem less than Du Fu, so Du Fu's achievements in poetry are higher than Li Bai's, but in fact, according to their excellent poems, Li Bai is more than Du Fu.
