"Looking at the Lushan Waterfall" is a poem written by Li Bai, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty, when he first visited Mount Lu on his way to Jinling. The poet used a highly exaggerated artistic technique to describe the waterfall as majestic, beautiful and full of atmosphere, just like a vivid landscape painting.
The first two sentences of the poem summarize the majestic scene of Lushan Waterfall. The first sentence starts from Xianglu Peak. The water vapor under the sunlight turns into purple mist, giving people a hazy beauty. The second sentence describes the waterfall. The word "hang" expresses the momentum of the waterfall.
The last two sentences use exaggerated metaphors and romantic imagination to further describe the image of the waterfall, every word of it. The concluding sentence compares the waterfall to the bright Milky Way, which is both vivid and appropriate. The word "suspicious" seems meaningful.
